Shame that KTM GT was expensive as they are a brillant bike and 10k was a steal.

I've used 3 of the demo bikes at KTM as well as had the DMC mechanics bike for a few days and all of them seemed to be in great nick. I know the mech at DMC uses his all year round.

I don't need a bike that's going to fall apart after a few weeks.

I had mine for 7 years and it was fine and with most of the bikes i've had i've had them apart :D . I also had a few loan bikes and even the Duke's at the lower end of the scale were well made. The plastics were thicker and better put together than any bike i've seen since.

The gearbox was crap in my bike, but it was their first superbike so i'll forgive that as they refined the fuelling with twin sparks and gearbox two years later. It wasnt a very good roadbike tbh unless you road it full bore, which sometimes (sorry) you just dont want to do). The current 1290 engine is very smooth for a twin.

I'd have another KTM.

The Superduke GT has got to be worth trying as it's a tourer and a hooning bike (without the panniers). If i had one bike and was keeping it for a while i'd make sure it had extended warranty anyway.

Compared to what other manufacturer ?

I've been riding Ktm's for 12 years and I've found build quality to be better than most with fantastic dealer support on spares and advice when ever I've asked for it...... Only thing I'm not keen on is the torq' s head bolts they now use as they hold water and it speeds up the corrosion but they still don't rust as fast as Ducati fasteners.

I'd also question this. My 990 SD is 7 years old, OK granted it's very low mileage at under 10k, but other than a few stone chips there is no sign of wear.

I've yet to have it serviced though so I may change my mind then.

There is only one acceptable reason not to have two bikes imo.

And that's you haven't got room for three (rock)

I suppose this will all depend on what your insurance premium will be by the time you come to end of your current one with the tw@ selfish driver.

What about the Suzuki GSX1000S OR GSX750? Just adding something different I to the mix!

I dont get it. You have 2 bikes and want to get rid of one of them only to buy another one?

Whats wrong with the street tripple you have? Why not keep that and sell your other bike? It sounds like your requirements perfectly fit the street tripple you already have. Kwacky.... am I missing something mate or you,ve been smoking weed recently? Hahaha ;-)

I need an all rounder. I ride every day to and from work. The street is fantastic but it's not cut out for being ridden all year mostly on motorways and A roads. For the miles I do the Versys is more practical than the street. It's just sat there doing nothing and that's a waste.

Is keeping the st and selling the versys an option?

It is Blade. To be honest if I'm going to keep two bikes I'll keep the two I've got. Both are paid for and owe me nothing and as a pairing they cover all bases.

I dunno what to do :D (facepalm)

I think you answered your own question....keep the two you have for the time being. There's nowt to say you can't change your mind later on.
