It ticks a lot of boxes. The only downside I can see so far is the small 14l tank.

They should do a tourer version to take on the tiger and versys.

It looks like it'd be a ton of fun.

Don't you like that type of engine? I'm surprised at how flexible the 650 in the Versys is.

Parallel twins are great engines. Even the Yamaha Mt07 has one.

Parallels really surprised me and I think the Versys is an incredibly versatile bike and a brilliant commuter/mini-tourer (I say mini-tourer because I'd rather something with more power/lower engine revs at motorway speed for full on touring). All of that said, I don't look at a parallel twin and think, "Ooh yeah, I want that!"..

KTM make great V-twins, that's what they are known for on the road-bike market and by making a parallel twin I think they'll gain customers from the 390 rather than gain potential customers of the 1290. It's a perfect filler for the gap

I find them unexciting.

I hope Ktm have done something to the fireing order and made it like the Yamaha tdm which had if I remember rightly a 270 degree fireing order.

From an off road perspective a wider motor is not something you want in deep ruts so it'll be interesting to see how narrow they've managed to make the crankcases.

270 degree firing order to make is sound cool.

One of my fave bikes at EICMA. It looks to be a proper fun roadbike.
