The Police have called so I've given them a statement. It will be passed over to Warwickshire Police. I doubt they'll take it any further.

The bike is being assessed

I've had the forms in from Carole Nash, which I've amended and sent back.

I'll get the insurance quote from DMC Kawasaki and send that off next week. I imagine the Insurance company won't really look at the case until they've had to open their cheque book.

Forms for my claim have been filled and sent off.

I hate the waiting game. These bloody lawyers really do know how to drag their feet. Lazy gits.

Bear in mind that the defendants are allowed up to but in any case have a statutory 3 months to carry out their own investigation before they are required to admit or deny liability.

If it is cut and dry liability is often admitted sooner, but don't hold your breath.

I see it all too often where defendants still take the 3 months even though it is obvious that there insured is at fault.
It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next

True, but until you lot agree to annual subscription of £5,000 each I need to do a job to pay the bills.

I wouldn't dream of charging people. I wouldn't mind it being a bit busier but not at the expense of the community feel we've got here.

I don't think the community feeling would go because we have great members here who aren't here just for selling or starting arguments but people do meet up together for slices of cake and ride outs etc so pretty sure we would hang around!!

I've had a letter from the Police with a request for further information. They're looking at failing to stop/failing to report.

I spoke with the insurers (not the broker) and asked for an update. They want photos of the damage to the bike, which is fair enough. I can sort that out over the weekend. They have written to the other insurers but had not response so.

If he was (as Kwacky suggested suspected) the son of the owner, then he may be denying all knowledge of the incident to the Ford's owner.
The photos that Kwacky took of the other vehicle & occupants at the time of the incident may now become pivotal. Good thing he was on the ball, despite having nearly been taken out.
An unsustainable denial may even play into Kwacky's hands.? - Because the integrity of any subsequent allocation of blame against Kwacky (should?? ) be undermined by the denial being disproved.???
IMHO that's better than "4x independent hoodied witnesses" all falsely claiming the incident was the fault of the motorcycle.

:? Have you thought of seeking some specialist legal advice Kwackers.. (giggle)

I've chased a few people today for an update.

The other driver's insurers are denying liability but haven't said on what basis. I suspect that they're struggling to get a response from the driver, so they've denied to buy them more time. I have asked my insurer to press for more information.

The engineer has questioned a couple of things about the estimate and DMC Kawasaki have dealt with that.

It looks like this is going to be a drawn out affair.
