Deegee - you may very well be right it could be the VVT, but I found it too noticeable for my liking but I will test the next 2 and see what they are like for vibration! As for the fast they did say there's lots you can change but I didn't really get time to go through it all I was quite happy that the speed and gear indication are very clear so they have worked on that.

Personally loved the handling and power but I won't be able to give you a score yet out of 10 as I haven't tried any of the others yet and I want a realistic answer first lol

Rocket - I know you like your thous and can clearly handle them! I would highly recommend you trying one for yourself as you have the knowledge base of the previous models I don't think you would be disappointed!

CT - personally I didn't notice the flex as you describe, I was laying down on the tank a handful of times when hitting the nationals but nothing felt out of place for myself at least. However majority of the ride I felt I could be at the normal 1/3rd tuck position as the wind blast was minimal and I felt very stable and happy. The design was in my opinion - prefect

That's a real shame Blade but understandable with all the moving problems and work on top of that. To be fair you have a couple of brilliant bikes in your possession anyway so not like you are missing much to be honest lol!

Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Would you recommend the Beemer? Barnstormer near Loomies would be a great location for a test ride must admit! What are they like to offer test rides in your experience?

As you are testing 1000cc bikes I would give it a go, I know its not a sports bike, but I would try my model the R, and the S1000 RR. Barnstomer's in Alton or the Maidenhead branch will do you a test ride. If you do Maidenhead I can suggest some roads out that way for test. If Alton, well again some great roads for a test around there.

Frankie I may just do that as I have a few days off soon so may look into it a bit more. I must admit the R is a stonking bit of kit and I wouldn't mind giving it a go then try the RR and compare them both. I'd prob go for Alton as I know the roads a bit better depending on how long the test ride is I could poss pop down to Portsdown Hill but Maidenhead is a little built up for my liking.

Fair point, however, I know some very good roads straight out of the shop, up to Henley, then onto Benson, round trip to Stockenchurch back to Marlow, you will have sampled all the right roads to get a feel for the bikes.
Happy to show you them :)
Don't touch hardly any built up roads......30's 40's 60's and yipee I love this bike roads lol

Sounds like quite a route mate, but you know what I'm like with directions Image think I'd prob go for Alton. However I do need to have a sit down on them first to see what they are like before a test ride so may pop by Maidenhead one at some point just to size myself up!

I get bar vibration, seat vibration, erm well everything vibrates.. The "character" of a twin showing through.. lol..

Is it possible your hand was slightly off the end of the grip? I used to do that on the track banana and it would feel kind of buzzy..

I rode a 2005 GSXR 750 with aftermarket bar ends previously, on throttle there was no vibration but once you start to decelerate the buzz from the bars made my vision go blurry - I rode maybe 10 miles and it was absolutely dreadful

The Multi doesn't have any bar vibes at all Nutz, get a bit of a rumble through the seat down low but other than that I get less vibrations than I did on the daytona.

Deegee wrote:Good write up Rossgo, there are plenty of reasons for that vibration, can't imagine an oil change would fix it though - a throttle body balance would change it, valve clearances can give it, but wouldn't have changed in under 1000 miles, or it may may just be a price to pay for the variable valve timing.

Not my colour taste at all, and the can is fugly as feck, I totally agree with you about the dash - I wonder if there's a customisable function to eliminate some of that info? Those wheels are just pure Gixer (no such thing as too much) - I suspect there's an American focus group responsible for that choice....

However a modern thou lives and dies on the power and handling, and it sounds as if worked for you on both those levels, what marks would you give it out of 10?
Deegee - I think I'd give the Gixxer an 8 out of ten. It's an amazing bit of kit, in fact I loved it BUT ive knocked it down because of the loud can and the vibrations!

Well that's aftermarket bar-ends for you in general, I think.....the PVC ends they made us use for racing were fcuking awful for that.....two laps in, and I couldn't stand the things anymore....but much of that could have been nerves.

My hands had definitely lost all feeling,
And they felt like two balloons,
In many ways, they had become,
Uncomfortably numb.
