Insurance renewal time

Post by Kwacky »

Last year I had a zx6r and a Z1000sx to insured. 4 years NCB.

Total paid with all of the trimmings was £546. Not cheap but that's the joys of no garage and a claims history.

Renewal has just come through. One bike and full NCB. £496.

Time to switch companies

For a single bike try the search engines.

But have to say I was impressed with the knowledge, service and price at Bemoto

I will be calling around for quotes. That's taking the piss. What gets my goat is I know it'll be lower if I call them.

These companies are t&*ts aren't they. Always worth ringing them which I don't understand because it just wastes our time and theirs. I don't know why they don't just give their best price straight away what a waste of time!!

I had a friend in NZ who was a insurance broker for household contents and building sector. She said it was because a large percentage of people just pay with no question. Those that don't, will ring, get a reduction and feel like they got a win. The majority of people (including me) are too lazy to research and change companies for all of their insurances every year. Thats what they prey on.

I must admit I agree with that.

My old Team Leader did the same for years it was only until he started to ask around when he realised he could save a bit, when he started looking he realised he could save hundreds!! It turned out I was paying less than him (boy racer, hot hatch, young, no dependants etc) conpared to him, older, fanily, small cheap car, house, years of experience) he rang up his company and had a go and left as he was with them for years and it crept up each year. He just assumed he was getting the best price due to being a loyal customer.

Loyaltt does not pay!!

Totally agree guys. If people are too busy or lazy to ring round the broker is going to try it on and if they get away with it often you can't blame them, their only making money which is there primary concern.

2 years ago our car multi policy was with aviva and cost 560 but a year later the renewal was double so I went with Swinton.

Guess what this year Swinton had doubled their premium so I went back to Aviva and got it as new buisness for 580.

It's just a merry go round and you have to play it unfortunately or get ripped off.

I actually quite like it ironically. If it was fair there would be no deals as we would all get charged the same. The fact a lot of people get ripped off and line the brokers pockets makes it easier for me to cut a deal and the broker to still get his monthly target. Effectively my lower premium is subsidised by the people who get ripped off (lol)
