The "new topic" button for me is under the forum title Events

Thanks for the reply. The new topic button is not under the forum title for me in the event section. It is in all other forums I.e biking banter or slapper chat etc... But not in events. Is events new posts locked unless your a moderator ???

Yes, you are not supposed to be able to post in the events section at all. The idea is that you add a new event to the calendar on the appropriate date and the system will automatically add a post into the events section so people can add their comments.

Thats the way it's supposed to work at the moment, it may not be the best way, but it was the only way I could ensure events where added to the calendar.

Hidden the Start new thread button now for everyone. I might put a sticky in there though the let people know how to post an event as it's not obvious..
