The changing room is being used by the other firm who have sub let one of the office wings. I have put my trousers on the radiator in the downstairs loo but any one can go in there so I run the risk of it being nicked. My gloves are also on a radiator. I'll get those back at lunchtime so hopefully they'll be dry by then.

At least it's dry in winter.

We do tend to have a very wet period mid spring to early summer. Looks like it's started.

Lovely, put on wet gear and rode off into heavy rain again....

Didn't help that I have issues with the lid. Details in the other thread.

Sunday I took a ride out to the infinity, clearance warehouse, invested in a new middle of the road, summer, not too cold jacket, big enough to wear some thicker gear underneath if needed. I only have the teabag jacket I bought in Italy, and the full winter jacket, the summer one and my leather jackets have all shrunk somehow!! ?

And as mentioned already it was bloody nippy on the bike.... so wore it back, very nice :)

Another wet ride into work. At least the Held gloves did their job of keeping my hands dry. Shame they're not very warm.

Learn you will, more than one pair of gloves you need.

Not if you're an experienced & hardy savvy commuter, because if you are won't you have some decent muffs for adverse conditions.?

A good muff takes some beating imo. :)

I posted these up back in the D6.org days.

I’ve has a pair for nearly 10 yrs. commuted in them for 3 yrs. ridden in torrential rain and snow. I’ve only had wet hands once because I was too lazy to put them under my jacket sleeves in heavy rain, and rain ran down my arms and into them. But even that took 3 hrs to happen. Totally avoidable.

Found you a UK seller even

I tried handlebar muffs on the SX and I really didn't like them. They restrict your hand movement, you can't see what you're doing (useful for when you're changing settings) and they're not very easy to use on the move when you need to take your hand out and then put it back.

But apart from that :D

Those over-gloves look like a really good idea for seriously bad weather, without some of the issues that Kwacky raised. (y)

The link I posted wasn’t muffs Kwacky, they were over gloves. Definitely worth a look.

I wouldn't want anything that kept my hands on the bars... How would I show my appreciation for the standard of driving of other road users (giggle)

"Dad, can we go out on the bike again sometime?"

"Yeah, how about right now!"

"Oh. Erm..."

"Have I just put you on the spot and now you feel uncomfortable?"

"Yeah..."

"OK, no worries. We don't have to. Just let me know when you do want to and we can sort something out."

"I just didn't want to put you out if you didn't feel like going on the bike."

"..."

"..."

"Get your helmet on!"

Went out for a cheeky hour. Saw a bike pulled over having a chat with the police less than 10 minutes in, so we just took it (relatively) steady. Missed a turning but ended up on some decent roads anyway.
No cake stops, no drinks, no talking, just out on the bike enjoying the scenery.

And giggling to myself as I accelerated, then did it a bit harder, then a bit harder and felt her hands scrabbling for a bit more grip without letting go!

Got the MV out to show it off.

Cookie then pointed out that the Versys has a flat rear.

The big piece of metal in the centre of the tyre might be the cause.

The AT is ready to battle the traffic.

The MV won't be allowed to do the mundane trip to work :D

Nice ride into work. Clear skies and relatively clear roads. Commuting should be more like this - a stress free experience.
