Nice job Mick, bikes look nice.

Collected track bike from Gary, all sorted, so gave her a good clean, I think I might need a new battery, and deffo some pads. Put her back together after lots of tlc. All ready for Cartagena.

Washed and scrubbed the S1R, she was minging! Full check over, wash and polish. Happy days, may pop out tomorrow if I feel up to it, been feeling off colour since getting back from France :(

Put the KTM on eBay... Very very sad face, but needs to be done. Hopefully will get decent money for it instead of stealer tradeins.

Cheers mate. For the first time ever I feel a bit gutted about selling a vehicle. But hey, when things change needs must.

Continued with giving it a deep clean after how dirty in got en France.

When we pulled up for the return ferry, a new Multi 1260 in red parked up beside us. His bike was sparkly clean and when i questioned where he had been as mine was filthy dirty, he said he had jetwashed it in a stopover the day before. Yep - jetwashed his bike whilst out on a tour. (facepalm)

I have concentrated on the plastics today using Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care.

Pulled the back end of the Ducati apart. It’s due inspection (MOT) and I haven’t ridden it pretty much since it’s last one. Found the rear light mounts had snapped (bit of a known issue with them, already repaired it once) so did a more substantial repair method. Also replaced the pannier mount panel that broke when I had the little off a while back.

Pretty confident I’ll be ok to ride it again now, got a lot of feeling back in my hands now and am handling physical work with less side effects, so will have the ride to get the inspection done as a bit of a tester.

Got out on the 660 for a couple of hours yesterday, took the backroads to Weston s Mare.
Great road I need to do it more often.

Rapidly prepped the KTM for flight tomorrow, despite the dwindling light.

Rode the Multi for the first time in nearly a year. My right hand is still a bit too vague for my liking. The bit of feeling I have back is muted by the glove somewhat. Have to keep opening and closing my hand to reset my brain as it feels like my two smallest fingers are sticking up in the air when they aren’t. I can find the brake ok two finger braking, but when I move those fingers to brake it feels like I’m completely letting go of the bar and it’s quite unnerving.

Just my luck, it was raining, roads soaked, and where I live was above the cloud base. So first 5 km was gingerly down the hill trying to dodge the rainbow splotches of diesel the trucks spill on all the tight corners, and fighting to see ahead through the cloud/fog. But once I dropped under the cloud level it was reasonably dry roads and less stress. Nothing like jumping back into the thick of it!!!

Only did about 50 km to the inspection and back, but the right arm was aching by the time I got home already. So still a while before I’ll be doing weekend trips away two up with full luggage again.

But was nice to be on the old beast and a few throttle squirts through the gears had me grinning :)

There’s nothing like taking a break from a big bike and enjoying that acceleration like it’s the first time again (muscle)

Back on the bike for the commute to work. Feeling tired, heavy traffic, new tyres, light rain. All good fun.

Believe me.. I had a stark reminder after a 2 year break and going straight to a ballistic race circuit (whew)

Going into Turn 1 from 4th gear just leaving the pit lane and then hitting cold brakes which warmed up nearly instantly and put the rear in the air was a fright

After my high side at croft last Wednesday at the Jamie Whitham track school. Hospitalised for 6hrs, with suspected broken pelvis and back, discovered 4 broken ribs. I ventured out on the road on the blade, to go and mingle with BSB riders Bradley Ray and Luke Stapleford at the near local suzuki dealership. Good night, top blokes. Body was sore riding the bike , but it never refused me, my adrenaline rush.
