Took the Multi out for a ride.. but to be honest other than a short 11 km section and the last 10 km up the hill to my place I didn’t really enjoy it very much.

Caught up with a couple of school dads, one on a Ducati 1000S and the other on a Kawasaki 650 Vulcan. When I caught up with them at the met up I noticed straight away they both had significant chicken strips. All good I thought, wouldn’t hurt for me to have a more sedate ride out. But then we proceeded to head towards the city (facepalm) and I soon found out we were heading to the northern beaches which meant 1.5 hrs of 60-70 km zones and lots of traffic. Met another bloke in closer to the coast who was a mate of one of the dads, older bloke on a Yamaha TDM 900 that he’s done over 110,000 kms on!!!! Thing was in top shape. He lead us to a little windy section along one of the bays, he rode a far bit quicker than the other two but still well in my comfort zone so enjoyed that section at least. Had a very overpriced pub lunch on the water and then had to head back. About halfway back I told the guys I was running late to pick up my son (which I was) and took off at a brisker pace. Gave it a good smash up the hill to home. Put the bike away, got changed, go into the car and was 5 mins down the hill when I saw the other 2 on their bikes coming home (lol).

Enjoyed their company but going to definitively take the GB next time so it’s at least a bit of a challenge. And I’ll convince them to go into the hills rather than suburban traffic chaos.

Installed the Osram bulbs yesterday and made a guess at realigning the lights as they where way too high. Not a bad guess but needs a little tweak tomorrow.

I do really need to work on my night riding though. I struggled a bit tonight with all the headlights, and found it quite hard working out the speed of oncoming cars when planning overtakes. Fortunately always on the safe side.

It was a but warmer down here, I think it was about 6 degrees when I left.

Got the headlights properly adjusted now, the Osram bulbs are excellent and at £24 for the pair well worth it.ImageImage

booked the bike in at the dealers after it wouldn't start on friday.

A wiggle of the wire for the clutch switch and it fired up. This is after I had to push it away from the petrol pump after I had filled up and paid then returned to the bike for ti not to start. So was a bit peed off.

I got a couple of other niggles I want checking too, so just booked it in for warranty work. Then might be cheeky and ask them to swap my tyres over whilst its in. Booked in for 15th Nov. though, so a couple more weeks on squared off balding supercorsas to go.

Traffic was a nightmare tonight. One lane was shut on the M42 and there's road works. It was a real battle to filter. I had the fog lights on and the hazard lights and was having to flash the main beam to get people to move

Made it a lot dirtier!

One of the roads I use was flooded this morning, so the choice was either follow the cagers on a 4 mile diversion or let the bikes adventure side loose.

It was only 50-60 foot wide and quite a bit deeper than I thought. I managed to get the screen wet from the bow wave! I'm not going to post a pic of the bike as Monty and blade may not survive seeing it.

Had a nice morning yesterday working on the bike.

Old broken radiator has been removed
Exhaust headers removed and cleaned (30k miles without a clean... they're a bit crusty up top)
Rear shock removed, measured and replaced with Ohlins TTX 36 and ride height set to match old shock with 6mm of shims
Exhaust reinstalled
New radiator installed
Ohlins 25mm supersport forks installed

Happy happy boy over here
