Connects the starter motor to the crank and only engages in one direction of spin.

Washed the AT then wheeled it to the back of the garage where it'll spend its winter.

I haven't done a thing, I'm not quite mad enough to try to wash the bike in the rain and wasn't fit to ride in any weather after finishing off the alcohol people gave me for my birthday last night (beer) (rock)
No hangover but still didn't fancy wobbling about on greasy roads.

Isle of Man levels of fog this morning. I hate it as it tends to work is way into your visor. Your mirrors get covered in mist. Filtering is a nightmare.

We had ice so thick I couldn't scrape it off. It was tempered.. it was fairly soft but impossible to remove! I just had to sit and wait for the blowers to work their magic.

Note to self: buy a can of deicer

I had another pinlock failure yesterday.

£25 for a piece of thin shitty perspex and some sealant which fails when it gets wet. I had to ride home last night without the pinlock in, which was fun in the dark while it was pissing it down.

Pah.!
(Putting on his best "Grandad from Only Fools & Horses" voice ).....:
Back in the 70's full face helmets were "the fancy" helmets. They had fixed visors with no scratch resistance. No airflow demisting in their design concept. Bike headlights had the illumination power of a flickering candle, and lacks vehicle standards meant that a large proportion of other vehicles had misaligned headlights that would make a Gestapo interrogator proud.
Oh. and back then we had proper cold wet rain..

Kids these days......... (smirk)

I now feel bad for telling you I left the bike at home today as it was far too wet and windy to want to ride into work.

Sorry Granddad.

Sorry Granddad.
I went a step further and put mine up on stands knowing the chances of me using it over the next few months are slim :(

The AT is on its main stand, all greased up and polished. I doubt I'll use it again this year unless there's a TS breakfast meet before Christmas, in which case I'll drag it out.

The Versys is going to be the winter hack. Poor thing..

Started it.

I've no intention of riding it right now, I can't even do the school run without more layers than a Great British Bake Off episode.

But I thought I'd give it a prod as it hasn't been moved, not even started in the last 4 months.
It started first time, no complaints, not even a hint of struggling to start. Mind you, with a fresh battery going in earlier this year I had hoped for such results.
Still sounds good, and also filled the garage with that lovely lovely smell of internal combustion! (mm)

A frosty ride in but it was made bearable by the beautiful morning sky as I followed the crescent moon and Venus into work.

That sounds like a horoscope reading (giggle)

I actually touched my bike the other day... it's disgustingly dirty.

I cannot wait to get the bike moved into it's new home once completed and give it some proper TLC!! I'm probably going to end up taking all fairings off and leaving them off until all prep is done for my stag do in Porto.

So excited to work on it and ride it again

Fitted the R&G tail tidy. Had a few brackets missing which I had to make but for 4 quid brand new it was a bloody bargain.
