Dropped it off and the guy had a look and said "Oh, a 1290 is it? They're common for the hub faces to be off a bit"

So he's done this before and it will be ready early next week so no bike for me this weekend.

In other news I had a browse on ebay for 675 street triples and my old bike is up for sale, still has most of my farkles on there too...

Must buy a ticket for that lottery, I kinda miss that little triple.

Few weeks ago I started taking the exhaust wrap of the GB400, it’s a common ‘mod’ to make it look more hipster over here. I don’t really like it. seems there was another reason they put it on, the headers are horrendously corroded. I’d expected them to have some and thought I’d need to do a blast on them when I bought it. But these look a bit to far gone.

Well as luck would have it a set had come up for sale on the FB group I’m in for the GB’s, off a bike that has done 300 miles... and is 30 yrs old. They look brand new. They are in Germany and I had a broken English chat to the seller, and postage isn’t too bad so they are mine! Unbelievable score, original parts in good nick are like rocking horse poo for these bikes.

It's supposed to rain all day here as well. But I braved it. I'm sure I'll regret it when I go home.

A guy was meant to come round with a welder today after work, and start to build up the snapped studs in cylinder head with weld, and put new nuts on. However, the rain stopped that happening so will be later in the week now.

I’m just hoping I don’t end up in the same boat as D6 removing the old ones!!!

Gave the AT a big wash and polish. Put some more tape on it to hopefully stop the bungee straps from rubbing the paintwork

Apologised to the Versys and the MV for neglecting them.

Gave the vfr a wash and polish, tightened the chain, checked the brakes. She's ready for France.

Doesn't clean up to badly for a 17 year old battle wagon..ImageImageImage

Cleaned and refitted the front wheel, it is perfect but both disc carrier's were warped and have been straightened.

If they go again then they will need upgrading, brembo serie oro are recommended and have a very different carrier design.
