Ordered a replacement clutch lever.

Nipped into B&Q and bought a nice little JCB foldaway allen key set. My mirror had become loose following yesterday's dive so I needed to tighten the screw. The set is small so I'll see if I can find room for it under the rear seat hump next to the puncture kit.

Went to see my mate who has and engineering shop. Used his workshop to shorten my throttle cables for my quick action throttle. Fitted it to the bike a quick 5 min blast and its all good :-) a little bit of tidying up tomorrow so the bar end fits.

Don't think so it worked ok but was only a quick run , I checked the terminals on the battery and had a quick look round for loose connections and saw nothing.

Next step is to drain the tank and have a look at the fuel pump / filter

Picked my way through the traffic as the rain continued to fall.

This month seems to have been very wet, even for May.

Got soaked again. This rain is something else.

Ordered a lever guard. I've ordered the one to see what they're like in terms of quality. They get good reviews but it's worrth seeing for yourself. I'll post photos when it arrives. It's from a British company Parkitt Racing who know their stuff http://parkittracing.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When i took my 748 for MOT the other week, i didn't get all dressed up in full gear. Just jacket, boots, jeans and gloves. Felt very liberating and went for a blast afterwards just before it started raining.

With so much decent kit these days, most of it offering decent protection but with also being quite practical off the bike, i can see the appeal of short boots, gloves, jeans etc. Not saying i would wear it on a full days ride but starting to look at one or two of these sort of things.

Ive just ridden to work in Jacket, Gloves, Kevlar Jeans and Astars riding shoes which are brilliant, this is my normal commuting clobber as it mesns no changing when I get to the office and its only a 20 minute trip, none on motorways, so I take my chances. I love my draggin jeans and astars shoes, they are called the joey I beleive, they are waterproof and look just like normal trainers but have armour around the ankle and are abrasion resistant, for em they are a good trade off, I know im not as protected as in my full kit but like I said, im comfy and safer than just normal trainers and shoes
