Classic Ducati superbike look Duke and looks amazing for it. True timeless classic.

Needs Carbon airbox, heat shield and some tasty rearsets next. You know you want too (lol)

As a full day pass had been granted for today, and the sun was shining, I decided it would be rude to leave it in the shed and headed out for a blast.

I decided to take the run over to Cheddar Gorge that I had planned last year. It wasn't the shortest route, and it involved me trying my hardest to avoid all major roads.. Which I did :) I left home at 9:30 this morning and got back a little before 6, no idea on the mileage covered but each and every mile was enjoyed. I've got to grips with the M7's now and the SBS pads are also bedded in.

Finally finished all the jobs on the zx10r and now it's all track ready

Only pisser was when I was putting the graphics on the belly pan I ended up peeling some of the paint off. Not too major as I will eventually get the fairing done professionally but it did out a slight dampener on the completion

Looking very tidy Rob. Great track tools IMHO.
My trackday buddy Leigh has the same version. I have a clip on my Youtube with my Gopro mounted on his ZX10 when we were at Donington last year.
It’s here, if you’re interested.: http://www.youtube.com/v/KUKelfS2OJs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He chases down, & eventually passes the Focused Events Instructor. In fact I think he passed almost everyone in our session (except me, of course (giggle) ).

I very kindly allowed Perkles to change my brake pads

I bedded in the new pads

I tried out my new camera

I found out I don't know how to use the camera and in fact recorded nothing.

I had a go on Perkle's RC8

Went out for a blast.

Well, a little late (this was yesterday), but what did I do to my bike?
Rode it to Snetty to see Pitty, Paul and Moonie at the Thundersport meet.
In return for some free food, drink and endless hospitality, my "skills" as a pit board operative were requested. Being a bit daunted that I had no idea what I was doing didn't last for long, with a bit of instruction from Paul and Pitty as to what they wanted, me and Moonie were soon smashing it out like pros!

Well, pros who occasionally forget to change what lap the racers were on! (blush)

I'll spare any results for the racing blog, but I had a great day with some great people, and to finish the day off I found some decent roads to spank the Z1000 homewards and set a new lap record!

Did you go for the SBS Street Excel's in the end ?? I'd be interested to know how you find them, as I've got mine bedded in now.

Yep, them's the ones.

They seem very good to be honest. Nice progressive bite, very strong without being harsh.

They'll get a decent workout at Mallory.

When they're warm I would agree. But, I do find them quite snatchy when they are cold.

Went out ... twice (y)

Went out this morning for a couple of hours, I didnt stop off anywhere. No talking, just riding

And again late afternoon, just to the Sainsburys about 5 miles away bit you could certainly feel the drop in temperature

Rode it, at last, finally got the GPZ back this morning after it having its immobiliser removal surgery, apparently there was an after market alarm in there too which had been added at a later date, the immobiliser was wired into everything single electrical component on the bike, no wonder it just died and wouldn't restart, ah well, good to have it back :)
