Sun is shining here so would be rude not to take it out for a good spanking.

well I fitted my new grips which were fine, all worked fine, no grip glue anywhere it shouldnt be, next morning it doesnt seem to be springing back properly, squirted a little brake cleaner in the ends just in case there was any glue stuck in there, seemed to cure it, rode it fine, went back afterwards and seems to have got stuck again, cleaned out again, all fine again, left again, sticky again, cleaned again this morning, will see how it is when I get home but if its stuck again im gunna strip off the throttle tube and clean it fully inside, just strange that it seems fine for a bit then seems to gum up (gah)
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

All for the Zx10r:
Picked the bike up after its dyno and PC mapping at MSS Kawasaki. (dyno run result pic below)
Finished off the track fairing, lacquered and applied a couple of decals
Got some new track orientated tyres fitted
Whilst the wheels are off, I have ordered some new pads which will be fitted over the next couple of days
Then once the wheels are back on I will be doing and oil & filter change then its ready for its first outing (clap) (clap)

Looks like some good gains all the way through the rev range (y)

Yeah, I was happy with it.

Was chatting to Nick Morgan down there and he said without spending a lot more money on the bike, that is the best I could hope for.

He also mentioned that its much easier to get that liner power curve on my model than it is on the newer model which is a bonus (y)

Picked up my posh forks from repair/service so swapped them over today. Well chuffed 70mins from start to finish. That included taking nose of fairings off.

Picked the newly repainted wheels up and fitted the front discs when i got home so i can get the front balanced tomorrow.

I got the suitcase scales out so i could measure the weight saving from the original wheels.

Front wheel weighs 0.75kg less and rear wheel weighs 0.25kg less. Not as much as perhaps i hoped but then the front discs alone weight 3kg.

Here they are all ready for the balance and bearings to be fitted.

Look amazing mate but is it not cheating weighing them with bearings removed ?

I weighed the bearings in too, mate. They weigh 150g and were added to my wheel weight.

Just spoke to the dealers to find out how the bikes getting on, the lad working on it had nipped out to lunch but it would appear the alarm/immobiliser system fitted is proving a nightmare to remove, would have nice to know it was fitted with one in the first place tbh, anyway need to ring them later to see how theyre getting on with it , don't think I'll be picking it up this weekend

Fitted some Motografix "3D" decals to it.

Downside is that in my haste, I didn't see that some of them went where the factory Z1000 logo sits on the tail unit. "It's okay" I thought, "these are thick stickers, they'll just cover it up"...

No.

No they won't! |(

You can only see it if you're looking for it, I had to physically put the missus' head next to it to make her see it (this sounds familiar :x ), but I know it's there, it will haunt me for the rest of my days!

Otherwise they look good. I'll post up pics sometime soon, I was waiting for bar end mirrors and new levers before I did a before and after set of pics, but funds may dictate otherwise!

I do need to get in touch with Pitty though, I have an idea that requires some vinyl mastery!

Rode it in torrential rain only to get home to find contractors have dug up the pavement and severely limited the access to my house.

So I've had to make some noises but fortunately there's a crew of workers outside now sorting it out.

No notification at all. Muppets.
