Your at least making the SP2 more desirable. I might make you an offer over a quid soon!

Fitted the rear brake pads, because of previous rear brake problems that the RSV's are well known for the old ones where a "little" past their best...

Downside, my speed bleeder broke so I can't fit the front pads.. New speed bleeder on order, should arrive this week so hoping to have the front pads sorted for Sunday. Will be an interesting start to the ride, new tyres and new pads all round.

Do the brakes need bleeding after changing pads? I just use an old dropper bottle to take some fluid from the reservoir.

I'm hoping it's worth it as by time you add the VAT to that price, buy a clutch tool, clutch plates, springs, gaskets etc... It's a lot more wonga again.

Been out trying on leather trousers. Tried on every type of Dainese that zips to the new jacket. Finally settled on these. Most expensive sadly but best fit and most comfortable too.

The rear needed bleeding, but that's standard as it hasn't been bled for 2 mins (wasntme).

I picked up a tip on cleaning and replacing the pads that uses a speed bleeder. Bring the pistons out a little bit from where they where and give them a good clean. Then crack the bleed nipple and attach the speed bleeder, finally just push the pistons back by hand allowing the excess fluid out the bleed nipple. Unless you need to top the resevoir up again there is no chance of brake fluid going in places where you don't want it to.

Got the bike recovered today and taken back to the dealers I bought it from, the dealer was horrified it had given up the ghost after only 70miles so is going to sort it out for me, Scottish trip now cancelled so if anyone fancies some ferry tickets let me know, Ardrossan to Brodick, Lochranza to Claonig, Mallaig to Armadale, second week in may.

Sorry to hear that Mate but on the plus side at least the dealer is sorting it, I'm sure a lot of dealers would say tough and leave it at that.

I have spent the evening fitting some new renthal grips and some shortly levers that I picked up at brands on Sat, happy with the levers (just cheap Chinese ones but do the job till I get decent ones) grips I like the look and feel of but slightly dissapointed that they are just slightly shorter than the originals so there's a slight gap between the end of them and the bar ends, which is worse on the throttle side but ah well

Cheers guys, its just one of them really, nice grips mate, fancy a set of them but dont think they do them in black, going for a kinda Eddie Lawson theme for Z650 including black superbike bars, the tank and panels are away for respray at the min and realising that although the frame is in great condition for its age the engine is bit tatty looking and needs a respray, getting expensive this renovation lark :)
