I remember sitting at the traffic lights at The Red Lion and feeling my boots fill with water. I looked across at you and shook my head.

We had been out for 5 minutes.

The instructor told us to slow down and I went hurtling past at 140 mph as I was on road tyres (rolf)

Took it out for a ride with one of the lads at work.

We'd agreed before we even left work that we weren't going to do silly speeds, no dodgy overtakes and nothing dangerous. Just a nice sedate ride to get out on the bikes and have a laugh.

Image
...with the prospect of getting out on my first rideout of the year with somebody else, somebody I know and the added BHP that comes with a GoPro strapped to my chest and another one strapped to his helmet, that agreement lasted about 18 seconds.

Neil, my oppo (who still doesn't appear to have signed up on here, I'll have to discuss that matter with him) has an 04 R6. The difference in our bikes became more apparent the more we rode. Taking a long, sweeping left hander coming off the A47 at the same speed, Neil had possibly half an inch of chicken strips left(looking at a garage shortly afterwards). I had about a millimetre. (shocked) Neil was also caught out on a number of occasions when I rolled on the throttle, fairly hard. Where I can use all that lovely torque in pretty much whatever gear, the R6 is better off in it's sweet spot somewhere in the stratosphere.
Anyhoo, back onto the 47 for a bit to Dereham, then down to Watton, where a pheasant did it's best to have Neil off halfway round a corner. (shocked) (shocked) (shocked)
Stopped at the Triumph shop and had a chippy whilst discussing the various bikes in the window, the finer points of biking and putting the world to rights. Fed, watered and having to get back for "Movie Night" with the kids, we blasted...er, rode back sedately (bandit) via some more twisties, got a bit more confidence back and had a right royal hoot.

Here's hoping for more rides like that this year.

Sounds like a fantastic evening mate, very jealous, although I know what you mean about sedate rides, I keep thinking I'll just taken it easy and then open roads, grippy tarmac, pinned throttle, it's the natural order of things lol

Just got back from Cradley Heath were I took my rear hugger to get carbon wrapped, nice slick operation they have and the guy there Will really knows his stuff. I'm well chuffed with the result only time will tell with the durability but the finish on it is very good and I'm tempted to take the mudgaurd in next.

Cheers guys tbh when on the bike next to the real carbon seat unit in the sun it does cheapen the carbon look hugger but the paint was chipped and scratched to feck so this option was cheaper than a re spray and the third of the price of a decent carbon hugger so I'm happy.

If its the same place I went to Wrap Kings ,then my stuff has been on for nearly 2 years with no issues

I was thinking of getting mine lacquered but havent as yet

Uber cool in the matte carbon look Bratty.
If it's not too crass a question ; roughly how much does carbon wrapping cost, relative to Carbon Fibre product itself please.?
