I managed to get hold of a lightec fuel cap for the RSV from one of the guys over at RSVR, so I'm going to cheer the RSV up with a wash and polish and fit the fuel cap.

That's why the guy I bought it from was selling it. He has already bought one new inner cap for it.

Hope its not going to be a trend that's followed.

Gave the RSV a wash and polish yesterday and had a little incident. The bit of fairing under the collector that melted when I put it on finally snapped, so out came the dremel. TBH It looks a lot better without the droopy bit so I'm probably going to skip buying the new fairing for a bit and spend the money on the track bike / trailer setup. Also fitted the new fuel cap, which I think looks really good against the white of the tank.

Can't see in the photo Nutz but I always reckoned the bike would look better with the droopy bit cut off so good move IMO.

Tank cap looks nice too 8)

Left it at home. Actually used the car today for a change. Thinking of getting that anti corrosion coating/wash/treatment.

Modified the fairing belly pan to allow for a side stand. After the recent trip to Spain it was becoming a real pain in the back side trying to a) get into the garage to get to my paddock stand (every bugger was parking up outside in front of it!! lol. b) Found it really hard to get off the bike and then get onto the stand after some serious effort on track.
Fitted and looking good :)
Also refitted to air scopes so they are now tight into the frame, so all the air is now forced into the airbox as it should be without leaks....should gain me an extra horse lol.

Cleaned and checked over from top to bottom, reassembled.

Took for a quick spin up the road to make sure all is good. note to self... Dont be a smart arse and try and pull a wheelie, with cold tyres, low pressure tyres.......bike does not wheelie, but it does spin up the back wheel, and weaves all over the place!!!! what a numpty! stayed on :) (sweat) (blush) (whew) (rolf)

Whoops.. :D

Tried to remove the old collector from the RSV, looks like its not going to be the quick and simple job I thought it would be. Think it may be a full headers off job which I really don't fancy as the headers are impossible to get to without stripping 75% of the bike down.

If I don't find an easy way I guess I know what my winter project is going to be.

Oops oh dear.

I would just knock the cost of a decent second hand one of the asking price. I'm sure the buyer would be happy with that, as sh1t happens at the end of the day.

Depends if that's the only way of starting the bike I suppose. I wouldn't want to buy if it didn't start!
