Hooked it up to the optimate so I can embarrass myself in the "what's your mileage" thread

I agree mate, it was still a great price. That's why I didn't push it, but I had to give it a crack.StMarks wrote:IMO a good deal is one that benefits both parties mate, & I reckon you benefited plenty with that cracking bit of kit.kiwikrasher wrote:..Can't bargain with a fellow tight arse kiwi thou. Had it on the trailer, handed him $5K cash, said 'so you right with an even 5?' He looked straight at me and said, '5,2 is the price, no skin off my nose if I take it back off the trailer'. !!
Did the colour coordinated paddock stands come with the package.?
And yep, stands and warmers included. As well as 2 stock rear shocks, stock exhaust system, 2 spare screens and a home made ramp we used to get the bike on the trailer.

Went for a wander with the family, we live on the coast but hardly ever do the tourist thing, so we ate ice creams in the sun and watched the boats sailing, had a wander back home again. Very nice if a bit warm.
Did home made pizzas for dinner and watched The Commitments on DVD, mini gee was playing some beta version game upstairs so he wasn't exposed to the barrage of profanity that film is. It is still my favourite music film, but "Cadillac Records" comes a close second place.

Went for a pootle on some French roads.
Disappointed at the lack of French tottie but otherwise a great way to spend a morning.

^ what he said
Spend some time cutting holes in my S1RR bagster tank cover. Looked into a new one for the R, but they are just short of £120... so spend a little time making holes for the air intakes which are on the R but no the RR.
Seems to fit, so that will do for now.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Tidied the fairings up a bit, they look OK now. I used some rubbing paste and elbow grease first to hide the worst of the scratches and then some lightly abrasive polish to shine it back up again. A little bit of black touch up paint and it looks pretty good.
I've got the go ahead to sort it properly later in the year when all the holiday expenses are sorted. I'm going to see if the company that made the kit will make some new side panels, so long as the cost isn't daft then I'll get them. It will also have the bonus of sorting out the droop where it melted just after I put it on. Will need to remember to get the heat shield sorted properly this time !

Well I emailed the company that makes the fairings... The total cost for 2 side panels to be made and shipped to the UK .....
£110.00
Well that answers the question of whether it's affordable or not.

And perhaps crying?
Sorry, too soon. It's my way of coping with the grief. I'm gonna miss that bike!

I'm ignoring it at the moment, she's in the garage with a big hole where the engine was. I try not to go in there but when I do she gets an affectionate pat on the tankItchy wrote:What, crunching and grating?rocket wrote:You could sit on it and make the noise'sMonty wrote:Nothing, I feel a pattern emerging!
