Tiger is staying for a while, I still really enjoy riding that bike, and while I am in this position where I can hang onto them both I will do. But who knows what tomorrow's brings.

As for (why?) I was seriously thinking about a flat bar conversion or some form of risers for the RR, but then I took this out for a test ride and was blown away. The engine is a slightly detuned RR, more oomph in the mid ranges, fully active suspension which is amazing, great bike on the road, in my opinion looks amazing. There were a lot of plus points when balancing the idea of " do I go new" or spend a few quid on mine now.
The result is a new bike one ha ha. However at the time I had a few month to get things in order as delivery was not until Sept, however as you know it arrived early.
It really does fit the bill of what I want right now in a bike, an all rounder, plus some accessories and spares from the RR are waiting to go on in time as well. That should save a few bob.

I would recommend taking one out for a test ride if you get a chance just to see how this bike handles. A couple of hours fun at the very least.

There was a test comparing that with the S1000Rr on the road in Performance Bikes a few months back. They came to the conclusion that your new bike was quicker and better everywhere on the road.

Ooops. I don't think it's a big job to replace.

It's an engine out and gear box split unfortunately. Going to be the thick end of 500 quid if it all goes right and theres no damage internally from the bits of bearing flying around in the gear box.

On the plus side they can do the valve shims while they're in there.

I had a call from the shop today to say my new lid is in, as is the "dark" visor. I wasn't sure if they could get the visor so I order one from racevisors as well, I'll decide which one to keep based on the discount that I can get from the bike shop. I have to say though Shoei's interpretaion of dark is very different from sharks !! The shoei dark visor is a lot lighter than my sunglasses, I doubt it actually breaks the law on visibility.

I struggled on it a bit especially in the morning but felt more comfy on it in the afternoon .The gearbox is still a problem and I found it pushes wide in the slow corners,plenty of grunt though.A suspension set up and much more time in the saddle is needed

I know you right, I guess it's just a personal preference. I've always had dark visors and have got used to them, my eyes are very light sensitive and I find bright sunlight very uncomfortable. My concern with the drop down visor was that it would let a lot of light in underneath, or maybe offer no protection at all when cornering.

I guess the answer is to try with just the built in visor and see how it works for me.
