Washed it in the rain, well it wasn't raining when I started but once the bike was wet and soapy anyway I just carried on and wheeled it into the garage for drying and waxing.

Lol...

I cleaned the vfr, did tyre pressures, checked the air filter expecting it to be full of crud and it was almost pristine.

Messaged GS tyres to see what price they can do on the Avon's, I also phoned the Honda dealer in Abingdon who wanted just under £300 (fubar) you can get them online for £150 as Frankie mentioned in his post

Going through the garage yesterday I found a number plate I bought for the bike last year and never fitted, as I needed to drill holes in it and my drill had packed up.

It's hardly the mod of the century, but it does make the bike 10% cooler...

Update from the weekend:

Fairings cleaned in and out plus refitted to the bike with new wellnuts. I've had to order new screws as I didn't realise how many were missing when I took them off.

Still waiting on my chain link to arrive but that is quite literally all that's left to do!!

I will also be storing my mate's D675R in my workshop for a week too so got to make space

Rode it! The GB400TT that is.

Only a short 15 mins ride to Jess’ place. Body seemed to handle it ok but the trickiest part was actually putting on my gear, especially the helmet which is still rather new and tight.

Still have hand numbness in the right hand, but now feels like i am holding a half round bar rather than not feeling the bar at all. Can find the brake fine now so that’s a bonus!

A bit restricted in my neck movement looking forward at an angle when mid corner if that makes sense, and also checking spots behind me but heaps better than where I was when I decided riding was no longer a good idea.

I paid about £275 for the RA3's fitted to loose wheels. No way should the Avons be £300, i paid £205 for a pair of ultra sports fitted to the bike.

Lovely ride into work this morning, blue skies, less wind, and for some odd reason but much traffic.

The ride back however, not so good. I missed a scamera van on a bridge over the A34 doing 60 in a 50. I'm hoping that as the bridge was a road bridge and the camera window was on the side facing the traffic they need the front reg plate.... If not I guess I have some post to look forward to.

Just as an interesting note. I've had many a conversation about high vis and whether it's worth it. Normally I'm on the side of not, but tonight at dusk I was following a pan euro courier bike, all decked out with panniers. The ride had a high vis jacket and lid, with hazards on the traffic just parted to let him through.

There are some high-viz jackets now that reflect as white light. They stand out like a beacon else in the dark.

I've seen these for about a year but they've really taken off in the last 6 months for road runners. Meep Meep.

You can see it's a person from a mile away compared with the reflective stripes and hi-vis yellow vests

Just routine maintenance.

She's 15 years old and I haven't ridden her for over 2 years so a good through service to bring her back to full health.

The list will grow as they always do but the starting point is:

Brake fluid change
Brake Caliper clean and lube pistons
Clutch fluid change
Clutch hose replacement for braided line
Coolant hose change for Samco Silicone hoses
Coolant change
Oil and filter change
Fork oil change
Grease head bearings
Strip clean and grease suspension linkage
Clean and oil K&N air filter
Balance throttle bodies
Replace battery
Replace spark plugs
Chain clean and lube
Chain alignment and tension
Check all fastener torque settings

Plus anything else I find as I go. Reckon it will take me quite a few days as I only get short bursts between school runs, but I enjoy it so no rush.

That's an extensive list but if you've got the time for it then I guess it'll be quite rewarding.

Exactly mate. My time is free, I enjoy it and the weather is too crap to ride, so I might as well crack on. If I run out of time I can leave it and pick it up again next week, so it's no problem.
