Steelies can be fast bikes I just to know some one who raced them and he could leave 1000 standing in the fast group. I don't think the extra power of a 750 will make much odds on the track. I would be focusing more on suspension and brakes than power.

Decent price and spec. They handle pretty well. Seems ideal for your needs. Go for it.

Looks tidy.

Although on balance another £ 350 can buy a 2006 Daytona 675 (well anyway, it did for me about 2 years ago)

Just had a good chat with the bloke. Apparently it's an ex-race bike, turned into a track bike. He said it's been lovingly looked after and is in top notch condition for it's age and considering it's a track bike..

I'm going to pop down tomorrow evening, and if it stacks up as well has he says we might be having a serious chat. :)

Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind. I think I'm sold on the idea of a fully track prepped bike.

I guess he's trying to obviate the usual TDR derisory offers.

If you think about it, as it has spare wheels with Wets, it actually works out cheaper than the one on Evilbay.!

Just googled patracking, I see what you mean, there is a striking resemblance. If it is then so be it.

I know I'm not buying a new bike, and if its still running and running well after that it can't be a bad bet.

Don't get me wrong,if it was one of his way back, you know it was well cared for. I used his services at Brands one time, great set up, was actually thinking about buying one of his at the end of the season, he told me he sells one or two off every so often when he upgrades. Always cbr600's.

Both of those are good value, the one in Salibury even has all the screw heads lined up on the dash, it's also got £100 warmers, the TDR one has got £300 of WoW though and it's 4yrs younger with lots of expensive extras.

Depending on how it's been looked after, I'd say the TDR bike looks the better value.

I never noticed the screw heads.

Tbh I'd only plan on dry track days so WOW's aren't really a priority. If I did think of wets I'd probably get a used set and get them changed at the track.

For the age of bike I'm looking maintenance has to be top of the list.

Well the eBay bike was as good as the auction described.

Nothing to do to it apart from chuck some fuel in, stick the tyre warmers on, and thrash the crap out of it.

All being well the guy should be delivering it on Thursday. Going to have to do some evening shifts in the shed to make space for it.
