No, they're just trying to get out of their contract of a free recovery for NFC.

That's out of order, don't let them get away with it.

We've had numerous accounts of inept service from the RAC from 675 members, another doesn't come as a big surprise tbh. They've damaged bikes, laid them on their sides and sub-contracted recovery to idiot outfits that can't even supply a driver with a map or satnav to find the home of the recovered person & bike. (facepalm)

In short my experience says don't go with the RAC.

I think they might class that as accident damage rather than a breakdown, which seems to me what they are saying.

AA don't cover that either.

Get it painted the right colour and you'll still be at 1/3 of that quote. It's hard to tell from your pic but it might even be a tyre match!

Good find and buy if no hidden damage.

Well thanks for that. I bought it and have had it fitted although I went with a new tyre just to be on the safe side. Looks a bit odd with odd coloured wheels but I intend to get it powder coated (probably about £50) later in the year, when I'm not using the bike (and the bank balance has recovered). Just problem, do i get the front wheel painted to the original colour or do i get the back wheel painted gold ? As the front wheel looks quite good in gold?

Your call. If you intend to sell the bike it'll be easier to do so with black wheels.

Cool!! Glad you got it sorted cheaper than that first quote!!

As Kwacky says black would be easier for resale.

More or less what I was thinking, but I have been toy ing with the idea of having it resprayed BRG, with gold wheels for some time.

But too much of a skin flint, so I will most likely go with the dark grey/black option on just the wheel.

Fwiw, as it happens NFC, I also prefer the gold wheels on my Graphite 675 mate. (nod)

However I have a tendency to take my bike tarmac surfing, rather than sticking to the conventional "rubber-side down" approach.

The front end seems to fare less well in these excursions. Consequently I have an immaculate (with brand new tyre still fitted) rear wheel in gold, but no usable matching front wheel . :?
