R1 brake upgrade

Post by Zx10dale »

Have had standard pads and hoses on my R1 since new, initial braking was ok but prone to fade. Recently fitted HEL hoses and EBC HH pads. What a difference ! Two finger braking all day , no detection of fade on fast runs. If you run on standard brake gear all I can say is for relatively little cost this is one of the best upgrades you can do.

top tip - HEL hoses a lot cheaper than Goodrich and just as good . When fitting the lines the banjo may appear misaligned at either end but HEL hoses use a swivel joint at both banjo ends so you can turn to get alignment perfect

I've just put Hel lines on my kwak. They are very good and like you saw swivel to fit.

Do EBC pads still make that swooshing noise? I stopped using them a while ago.

I like He'll had them on every one of my bikes for last 10 years. Always one of my first mods.

Its like french mustard but the label is put on only half way up the jar rather than pulled up properly.
