First gen daytona 675 quickshifter

I'm sure this will open a can of worms, but I'm looking into a quickshifter for my first gen 675 track bike.
She's already got plenty of mods and was piloted to the 2008 Australian BEARS F2 championship but it's missing one thing - a quickshifter.

Obviously the OEM one doesn't fit the first generation bikes so I'm after a stand alone unit and don't want to piggyback another system (like a PC3).
I have heard of failures in strain gauge types with friends breaking DynoJet and Triumph units.

I'm currently running ValterMoto rearsets with a standard shift pattern.

So what other options do I have?
Price?
Quality of fitment and performance?

The two most popular options used in the UK are the Techtronic and the HM, both have a good name for reliability, iirc can be adjusted for shift cut duration and available in race/road shift. From what I recall the HM is the more expensive option but seems to have more cachet attached to it as they're used in pro race series more.

apparently the HM is easier to fit/set-up (Plug and Play) than the Techtronic which needs splicing into the loom , never used/fitted either so couldn't advise further .

Not concerned about splicing into the loom and pulling things apart.... That's half the fun, isn't it??!!

One concern I have with the HM is that they make the Triumph one which I have seen snap... and that's an expensive replacement job.

Considering the Bazzaz, Starlane, Annitori, Cordona as well.

I've got a Cordona fitted to mine. No complaints or snappages so far... Works really well. You can set cut time and the weight needed to make the shift.

I also need to find distributors.

I can get the Starlane locally and should be able to get the Bazzaz through Riders Discount in the US. The Annitori can be found on ebay but is currently on back order. The Cordona is also on ebay but from memory the seller was in Germany, so I didn't understand the listing. Plus it was uber (see what I did there) expensive compared to others.

You pay for the best lol. Got a bargain on the Cordona second hand. The Bazzaz stuff doesn't have a very good reputation on. 675.cc! Got mine second hand so can't help with distributors

One of the Aussie guys on 675.net thought the Annitori was clunky. They do have a new model being released soon and seem to be the cheapest option.
I have a friend locally on 675.net who has tried a lot of different ones and liked the Starlane.

....hence the can of worms.

It would only be the stand alone quickshifter only and not the fueling control or traction control modules as well.

The local (Aussie) Starlane distributor dealer gave me a price for the Starlane Ionic NRG which is semi universal (doesn't work on Suzuki or Ducati). It needs to be spliced into the injectors (instead of having bike specific plugs) but means you can swap it to another bike - you simply tape up the unused wires going from 4cyl to 3 or 2. There are bike specific models that are more plug n' play but you pay $100+ more for the specific plugs and loom.
He's happy to bundle it with some basic analogue tyre warmers (mine will need replacing soon enough), giving me a deal that would make the QS the same price as the Bazzaz unit (if I paid full retail for the warmers).

The biggest problem with the Bazzaz unit is there's no warranty if I get it from an overseas dealer like Riders Discount - which is an expensive risk.

The Cordona seems to be 500 Euro and the HM about $600 (US$ I think) which is a lot more expensive then the Starlane. And with the Annitori you get a budget unit (which is why it's cheaper) as I'm told it's clunky.

So the Starlane seems a good option at the moment.

Looks like I would need the PQ8 combo kit for 3&4 cyl - £319.
Dunno if they do VAT free for intl. customers and how much they charge for shipping. Then there is the warranty question as well.
Converted from £ to AU$ on face value alone it's $580.

If I had the 2nd gen bike they do a specific kit for them which are £220 I think.

Useful comparison thought, thanks. And cheaper than the German ebay listing.
