Private sales are still pretty good though. Second hand prices on the mainland are high so there's a lot of Europeans buying British bikes

That might be the way, sell it privately and after the dreaded payment take the remainder bike shopping.

I've just spent 3 hours searching the tip of a garage for the factory numberplate hanger and having a bit of a tidy up... Just about to give in, chatting to a neighbor and he pointed out a bit of bubble wrap poking out from behind the freezer... Yeah that's what I was looking for all this time. (facepalm)

I have been reading up on one of the treasures that I found, a SH775 Reg/Rec, apparently it is one of the best retrofit R/R's out there and proven to make stators run cooler whilst being virtually indestructible itself... I had bought it for the Daytona 650 all that time ago and never got around to installing it.

Also found some proper solder, the Lead based stuff 8)

Thinking of part exchanging it for this.

I'd like them to knock a bit off but it is a very tidy looking bike, I couldn't find any rust other than the headers.

It looks clean and tidy.

Hopefully it's got a decent service history.

It might be worth checking if there were any recall notices for that year of bike and that the work was done

I will get the registration and call the local Triumph dealer before any agreements are made. Although it has been serviced by Webb's of Lincoln, a Triumph dealer so it should be all up to date.

Looks good mate.

6 months warranty is very useful, but sure on the extra stickers though.

I have an old hair dryer, should make short work of those.... I am wondering if they're covering anything.

More bike tinkering, I didn't get a standard tail with it so bought one for £30 with indicators. Today I fitted that and eyed up what spacer's I need to fit just the tail tidy and got those ordered with some shiny new bolts so I can sell it on.

And more bike browsing

This looks a good budget option, and that Trident exhaust was one expensive piece of kit in it's day... No ABS though, and some say that the ABS on these is more trouble than it's worth anyway.

This one is very close by, might go to see it tomorrow on my lunch break.

No luggage but does have ABS...

I prefer the look of the black one.

The red one looks like it needs new tyres.

They both have new tyres, the red one has Michelin 2ct sports tyres which will be horrible this time of year, black one, Dunlop roadsmart... I wouldn't pick either but the black one seems the better buy. Just need to get the last few standard parts on the SX and it can go...
I still don't want to get rid of it but paying that last debt off will be worth it.

The Sprint is the bike which made me fall out with my local Triumph dealer, I wanted one after the Street Triple but after 3 attempts on different days the sales guy wouldn't pull one of the 3 they had in stock out for me to ride, a week later I showed up on a Ducati Multistrada (awesome machine, when it worked).

Those 2ct don't look like they have much tread

I called about the black one, it sold yesterday... Still on eBay though :?

Ah well, still waiting for the fairing panel from Kawasaki.

When I first ordered it the colours were matte grey or black... The black is too black, so this time the option of metallic gloss carbon grey popped up... So now I have 2 new fairing panels... Well, when this one arrives.

The first time, he didn't say that it was a special order and non returnable... I'm glad they don't sell Triumph parts so I won't have to deal with them again.

FWIW, the 2ct are actually the better tyre in the wet IMO. The Roadsmart is way too hard to grip in the cold or wet. It's very daft.

More Browsing and I found a Blue one on Facebook marketplace

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 206881725/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re-valved and re-sprung forks with a Nitron shock set up by Reactive suspension, all new swing arm and steering head bearings and full service history.... I have already arranged a deposit 8)

Just need that fairing panel for the SX now, they ordered it 2 weeks ago and it's still in a container somewhere in Holland waiting to come over, guess what they are blaming for that..

That's a lot of bike for the money.
