I m going to try this on the leather Cav. Gets good reviews and messaged the manufacturer and he confirmed its ok to use on Merino Leather.

Cleaned up one panel and one door on the car today. Covered in tar spots which i struggle to fully understand over the winter months.

I still have a fair bit of Bilt Hamber Double-speed wax and it does give a lovely finish. I notice it still came top in the Auto Express tests in 2019. pretty impressive when its been around for a few years.

Never heard of this brand. I was going to get Autoglym.

I want one that brings back the dull fresh leather look. The steering wheel is slightly glossy. I'm guessing because this was a middle classes mums car who probably applied hand lotions hourly.

My current product list consists of:
Autoglym Polarblast (snow foam prewash)
Turtlewax Shampoo (nice and gentle, doesn't delete wax)
Meguiars Compound (not used often)
Meguiars Polish (used occasionally)
Meguiars Liquid Wax (not used in a while but it is brilliant)
Autoglym Polar Seal (lasts well and after numerous rain showers, mucky roads and cleans it still beads quite well)
Meguiars Endurance Tyre Shine

I’ve washed my 4WD once with soap since I bought it and just rinsed it afterwards. Other than that it’s had a few quick rinses to her mud or dust off it post off-roading or a dust storm.

Duke are you sure its tar? Could it be oxidants?

Is it hard or soft? If Hard try clay bar.

It is tar. Came off with the tar remover easily. It will soften and smear before coming off completely.

I've used the Autoglyn leather treatment and cleaner on the wifes car. You've got to get it off quick or it will be shiny.

My car has Merino leather which I think is an aniline leather so much softer and more delicate. I emailed the UK distributor of Leatherique and they confirmed safe to use on Merino leather and will keep the Matt finish.

Well after reading this thread I cleaned hoovered and polished the car inside and out, took fecking ages and was making my arms ache worse than being at the gym.
Luckily the white leather wasn’t really dirty so still looks lovely.

You could try getting some sealant or wax on as paint protection and then maybe pre-washing could help remove it as a suggestion.

Haha you would want it any lower tbh, its difficult enough and something you have to be aware off when negotiating ramps etc...

Tbh that angle doesnt flatter the arch gap. Not as bad as it looks tbh.

My shoulders are still aching after cleaning the car this morning

Another easy way is a clay bar, makes it easy too.

Clay bar is an eye-opener when it comes to detailing.

My question about Wax & Seal answered....

Seal THEN Wax. Answer came from Chemical Guys, a high end cleaning product company.
