Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?

Post by Bob T »

Covid is really funny in a way. My girlfriend and I are living in our house in the middle of nowhere here in France, there is no risk of infection. We intend to go back to the UK, by car, on Monday for the Christmas break. We would both have to self isolate in a house where her two grown up boys live, it only has one bathroom.
Having applied for a form S1 from HMRC to become a cross border worker, living in France and working in the UK, she suddenly does not need to self isolate in the eyes of the law. There has been no change in risk, neither here nor in the UK. Cross border workers do not have to isolate.
Now I have to self isolate in her UK house but she doesn't. What a foolish rule.
Never mind Boris has bought you lot a load of dodgy vaccinations just to keep you happy, hope that in a years time the people who took part in the trials don't start snuffing it from some weird vaccine related illness.

Gavin Williamson strikes again.

Looks like his wife borrowed the family brain cell today.

Coronavirus: UK got vaccine first because it's 'a better country', says Gavin Williamson https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-55175162" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Video works.. albeit in letterbox form.

100% the UK are guinea pigs. Comparisons can't help but be drawn between this vaccine and thalidomide.

We are intent on isolating ourselves from the rest of the world with brexit.
The Oxford vaccine was developed using chimps.

The UK government is getting increasingly desperate.

They know they have been found it on every level.

I what I think is desperate is how they're trying to make out this is Britain's doing.

Other EU countries could have approved it by now if they wanted to, but they've decided to carry on with testing.

I'm sure it's safe. The drug companies don't want to go out of business and get sued in the process. I suspect we've rushed it through to make sure we get as many units in before the end of the year.

Dr Fauci on Wednesday had told Fox News that the UK did not review the vaccine "as carefully" as US health regulators, although he implied that the US would quickly also be in a position to approve a vaccine. "We'll be there. We'll be there very soon," he added.

He later told CBS News that the UK had "rushed" the approval, but on Thursday he walked back the comments, and said there was "no judgement on the way the UK did it".

The government knows they have no other answer. The scary thing is all you hear from the government is about "getting the economy back on track" any mention of people and heath is always after that.

My major worries are the lack of knowledge round and long term side effects, and the fact that the test pool has been relatively small so the overall understanding of side effects is quite limited.

Then also how targeted is this vaccine to a particular generic strain of the virus? What happens if it mutates (like most viruses trend to) and the vaccine is no longer effective? Back to lockdown again and wait for a new vaccine?

Yes, but if we can't take care of our elderly, vulnerable, etc., then what kind of society are we??

What would they call that..."progressive"??

Just been talking to my friend in the know - she says the number of deaths is at least 20,000 higher than the Government will admit.

And the Tier system is a just a PR stunt to appease those areas who do what they ask.

And now we start to see the effects of releasing a largely untested vaccine on the population.

With asthma, blood pressure issues, and a history of allergies (including one near fatal reaction to a bee sting) I guess I need to check first.

Now we've had a bit more info on the vaccine (both positive and negative) what's everyone planning to do, I'm still very undecided.

I'm in no rush to get it. I would like to get back to some sort of normality but I doubt that'll happen for a few months anyway.

My wife's cousin is one of the NHS Lawyers working on the vacine distribution, so I'm hoping to get some sensible advice from her at some point.
