And this is why the speed of development and lack of testing and analysis scares me.

Self isolating until my Mother in Law receives her test result. Temperature of 38+ and a cough last night.
I suspect the cough is relating to the fact she was in the attic earlier yesterday but I have no explanation for the temperature.

From December onwards HMRC will publish the names of all companies making furlough claims and the amount they are claiming.
That is really going to start some shit stirring.
If i were a betting man then that decision will be another u turn very soon.
It might also flush out a lot of companies who are making fraudulent claims so HMRC can investigate.

Wales is banning the sale of alcohol from Friday. Pubs and clubs must be really struggling.

Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes across Wales will not be able to serve alcohol and must close by 18:00 from Friday.
That's all it says at the moment.

My lad has just been sent home to self isolate for 14 days. Someone in his class has tested positive for it.

Best of luck...Kwacky wrote:My lad has just been sent home to self isolate for 14 days. Someone in his class has tested positive for it.
What does that mean for your daughter? Obviously she has to stay home but does she now need to test and a positive result would mean her year group would be sent home to isolate?

I've looked it up and it doesn't change a thing. Alex has to stay at home for 14 days. The rest of us can carry on as normal.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Here in Aussie at least, when I was self isolating at home post work trips, self isolation meant isolation from people within the house as well. Separate bathroom, mask on if in same room, not preparing meals for others etc.
So it was deemed the risk to others in the house low, so they weren’t restricted.
Not that I did any of that....

It seems like that would be when it would be the hardest, because you don't have a choice about being around people at home.
I've no idea how that's possible/practical, TBH.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
I knew I was absolutely no risk to people in my household, tested before I went offshore, health monitored every day offshore and tested on my way home. So inside my home I lived as normal.D41 wrote:It seems like that would be when it would be the hardest, because you don't have a choice about being around people at home.

My friend that got Covid (and caused my hotel quarantine stint) was living with her elderly parents in a single bathroom house. She wore a mask outside her room which she only left when absolutely necessary, sanitised the bathroom and kitchen after each use. She recovered fine and her parents were never infected. So it is quite possible and effective if done properly.

Fair enough. I was thinking of my old house when I wrote that.... and that place was frickin' tiny....one bathroom, etc.

Surely this is illegal and an offence has been committed?

That’s bloody horrific, blanket DNR orders placed on groups without their knowledge or consent, seemingly because someone has decided that their lives aren’t as important than others.duke63 wrote:Surely this is illegal and an offence has been committed?

That’s absolutely criminal behaviour imo.

I can understand if a doctor makes a call for a patient, because that's their job. They've got the information they need in front of them.
But a blanket order? That's criminal.

Thats horrendous. I know they were under extreme pressure, but i'd like to know who made that decision - it must have been a directive.
