Whilst I'm not seeking to absolve them, the Government cannot be held entirely responsible in this instance can they Monty.?
No matter how they act (or don't) is irrelevant on it's itself. -For the virus to spread & multiply requires for our population to be complicit in the transmission, without which the pandemic would presumably cease.?

There is a favourite saying of mine, that I'm inclined to proffer at devoutly religious types when I believe that their pious adherence may be harmful.: "If you are in the lifeboat in a storm, by all means pray to your god, but don't stop rowing away from the rocks to pray"

We shouldn't need "the government telling us" to conduct ourselves correctly in order to combat this virus, should we.?

Covid 19 is a seasonal virus and will ebb and flow with colder and damper conditions.

I think we will be living with this for some years to come in the winter months.

I disagree, all governments have a responsibility to protect their people first and foremost. Regardless of their stupidity.

I agree Monty. The first responsibility of any leader of any Country is to protect the people living in that country.

Our 'leader' has made the wrong decision first time every time on this one and has than had to reverse his decision. He has also failed to enforce the rules he has made and even failed to follow his own rules.

Turns out the **** clown and his lot did that along with a load of lives by not doing the right thing.

IMO the Tory party have a lot of blood on their hands. It's not just those who have lost their lives, but also the families who have lost a loved one, and the health care professionals who lost a life on their watch.

I have many words, and very few of them polite.

Of the patients in the covid wards, there are twice as many men as there are women according to the statistics published by a well known GP in the South West.

A quick gander around the web seems to bear that out....more than twice as many men are dying from it than women. I think 2.4 times was the figure that came up. Typical.
