What sort of s sick system allows an outgoing President to pardon criminals just because they are his mates.

We do need to have a complete reset of how democracy works in the future in the western world. Corruption is killing it.

I saw an interesting Australian based interview yesterday where an economics expert made a fascinating insight into the weaponisation of Covid by China (in an economic and political context) to show the whole world how communism can conquer the biggest threats. Meanwhile, democracy is failing miserably.

Democracy isn't really a thing these days IMO. The western world is fvcked.

It's childish to say the least..... but probably for the best, all things considered. Him being there would only marr the ceremony.... and then there's always the chance a bunch of his supporters would take it as encouragement to stir things up even more. This way it's a clean slate transition.

It wasn't just pardons, didn't get also change laws after losing the election.

The best part was when Congress (I think) asked him to please not pardon himself.
