151's - custom leathers

Post by Moonie »

I can't comment on the quality of 151's product, as they told us on Monday that despite placing the order over 6 weeks ago, paying half up front and chasing them by email & phone, being told repeatedly that everything was good and they were being made in time for TT, they could not in fact fulfil the order and they hadn't 'started cutting' at all. This effectively left me with no leathers for our holiday as my old ones are now too big ;(
I wish to thank Spidi for a rather beautiful suit, which luckily turned up today on a speedy delivery from Motolegends, and fits me perfectly... (clap)
Don't bother engaging with the smooth talking front man from 151's...he speaks rhubarb!!! (talk) (fubar) (finger)
Sorry I missed church, I was busy practicing witchcraft!

I remember talking about that with you at Snetty. No wonder it sounded too good to be true.

Douchebags!

Still, pleased you got something sorted.

Can't believe they didn't even manage to start cutting...what was their reasons behind it? And did you get your half reimbursed?

I often think you should have to pass an exam before running your own business. If you can't do a job on time it's much better practice to admit it before committing to the job.

Thanks for all the feedback Gang, not posting up a pic (shake) (blush) as Nige has taken the jacket to Joyda in Hindley to have my name & witch logo stitched on, but if you wait a week or so, I'm sure there will be plenty of TT photos with me in my new threads!!! (clap)

The suit I've got is a Spidi Poison two-piece...it's a lovely suit, a bit retro, built in lycra vest which is great, mainly black with white highlights, and gold flashes & stretch panel on the back...should sit nicely with Morph's gold logos.
spidipoisontracksuitblk_lg.jpg
The suit is nothing like the one I was having made, in as much as it was red, white & blue, and a one piece. I should have heard the alarm bells when Mr 151's told me he'd 'started to cut the black leather pieces'...red, white & blue my design!! :^

The body armour is much nicer than in my old Dainese suit, and you can vary the positon for the knee guards, which is great. Add to that, stretch panels, which my D's didn't have, and I'm absolutely over the moon. Just ordered the back protector insert as my other one won't fit, and I can see a new pair of boots & gloves coming on in due course...black & white 8-|
