Well first part done. I picked up the engine this morning. And came away with a spare screen and two side fairings for another £40.

Really looking forward to riding this next year.

This is the original invoice for the engine build. Comes to nearly £4,500.

Can't wait to hear/see this dude!

Are you going to keep it road legal or just track?

Just make sure those intake box fasteners have heaps of loctite on them Duke! My mate is still crying in his coffee over his.

Looking forward to seeing how all this goes (y)

How much extra torque and power will it deliver Duke ?

This is the dyno graph produced when the engine was in the previous owners bike.

He was running 45 into 50mm Termis which i don't have. I would prefer to pay for the parts to get it up and running this winter and then we can improve as we go along if i feel it necessary.

that's impressive for an older twin.

How often do you have to refresh the engine?

I have no idea. Its not been built as a race engine so shouldn't be anymore difficult to maintain. The parts are all road bike parts.

I don't do that many miles on it anyway.

Took the 748 out for a last thrashing in its current form this afternoon. Tyres are shot really and have lost their shape and follow every bump and white line in the road.

JHP are coming to pick it up on the 31st of October. Popped in yesterday to book it in and go through the options for oil cooler and slipper clutch. Seems the oil cooler is best bought new. Not a lot in the price of a new one to a decent s/h one so have gone new.

Spent half an hour going through the slipper clutch options. They have the cheapest STM coming in this week but couldn't give me price until they know what the invoice and exchange rate is on the day such is the value of the pound.

748 just been picked up to take it for the engine swap and set up.

Its sharing the van with a very rare Ducati Supermono so hopefully some of the Ducati Corse magic dust will rub off on it. :D

I'm surprised the owner allowed that out of his sight. I thought they were all in museums and private collections.

Reading through that made me want to get involved... best I can do is pictures so if you wouldn't mind obliging I'd be hugely appreciative! :D

Are you keeping the 748 fairings? You'd definitely surprised a few bikers that's for sure.
