Most of my bikes have had the gearing lowered, get used to bird spotting though.

As for ECU flashing, I flashed the ECU on the KTM with tuneboy. It's not for the faint hearted tough.

Take it to a Suzuki dealer and get them to check the map on the ECU. You might need a stock map putting on.

TuneECU is a KTM, Triumph and a couple of other manufacturers APP. Not sure on Suzuki, but a few of my ladyboy friends say the Anodiser APP may work with a GIXER.

Should have the latest map as had a service by a dealer end of last year. Should be all good but could give them.a call to ask what they advise. It runs really well anyway

Ahh right, yes, TuneECU I know that software..I think I still have my Daytona ECU lead in my kit..used to use that software to update my map on the Daytona.

Tuneboy is a piece of software that with a paid for key, you could load or alter your bikes fuelling/ignition map, I’ve used it on a couple of bikes and it’s an easy to use piece of kit, but it’s a powerful tool, which can, if used incorrectly, destroy an engine in seconds.

TuneEcu effectively does the same job, with the same risks, but came later and was free to download and use.

Triumph I know encrypted the majority of their ECU’s from 2012 onward to prevent access to their ECU’s by both pieces of software, coming as a result of damaged engines that may have had non-oem maps loaded when damaged, but the oem map subsequently being reloaded, then an engine being claimed for on warranty. In short, it cost Triumph money, so they put a stop to it.

I'd leave well alone unless you have some good knowledge.

Deegee perfectly explained. Yes i do remember this all happening with Triumph. I had the 09 Daytona and I did download the latest maps. Never had an issue which was lucky now looking back. I wouldn't do it now!

Duke - Defo leave to the pros doing that!

So I've done what I said I wouldn't do and looked into getting the ECU flashed. There's a guy locally to me who specialises in Yamahas but has worked on Suzuki too and does it very well. He quoted £400 To get it all done and would take 1 - 2 days of runs and sorting out. He sounds like he really knows his stuff literally on the phone for 30 mins which was only suppose to be a 5 min call!

£400 is steep and not really in a position to pay it just yet. But it is in my mind. Do I? Don't i? I said I'd drop him a message to give him an answer. I dont know. Its a lot but would make it feel so much better. I'll think about it

Be fair Monty he has to justify the £400 (blush)

Yea I should of been more clear. It will take the day but he said I could just leave it over night and pick it up the second day. He's pretty busy until mid June. It's expensive but I bet it would make a huge difference to the bike

Why?? Apart from the brown soot and the dyno graph result, are you finding the throttle response poor or snatchy?

Genuine question as wasnt aware you were having issues tbh.

No - No issues at all and not having problems. It's really lovely to use. But if you can get it better then where's the loose!

It's not decided yet as it's a lot and not in that position, its more of an upgrade than anything else. It's pumping out enough power, it still feels great and I geniunely love riding it. Like most things it prob be another 6 months until I decide Image

IMO I'd leave it alone then, unless you really need 2-3bhp extra...

The only reason I tensors y the KTM was the fuelling was awful. The throttle was snatchy and either on or off, there was really nothing in-between. The new map fixes most of that.

That is my point Rossgo and why I asked the question. If you haven't got a problem with the throttle, then your not going to see the huge difference your previous post suggested you were expecting.
