There's a 2016 getting broken on Gumtree.

400 miles. Not a cheap listing but a private sale so some haggle potential there for a nearly new engine.

Thanks but I'll need to replace all the electrics as well. Anything after 2012 has power modes and other stuff mine doesn't.

Yorkshire Engines might be getting a 2010 bike with 4,000 miles on it for breaking. I'm first in the queue for the engine.

I've been offered one of Rutter's spare engines.

2 laps of the TT done it.

It's effectively new. Full rebuild to WSS spec.

£4,000.

Crap. I'm so tempted but I really can't afford it. Plus I doubt it's a straight swap for mine. It'll be one of the newer 599cc engines.

I wouldn't bother tbh. As good as it sounds it's a 140bhp highly tuned wss 599cc engine that would need a much more frequent and involved maintenence schedule.

For £4000 you could buy a very nice 160 bhp Superbike and not just a highly strung engine.

Go stock would be my choice or if you have 4k consider parting out your bike and buy something better.

I don't have £4k so it wasn't going to happen.

It's not just the engine. The exhaust and downpipes would have to be changed, the ECU flashed, the filter changed. That's if the current ECU would talk to the newer engine, which I doubt.

Then I would need to tell the insurance company.

It was never going to happen.

And reliable, just so long as you only want to cover about a dozen or so laps of the IOM.. (giggle)

I'm still hunting for an engine. I've got a few breakers on the look out for me.
