what pre wash and general degreaser are people using that doesnt effect alloy ?
ive heard "muc off" hurts alloy if used regularly ?

That muc off is fine. You don't need to use it that often and you'll be washing and waxing afterwards so it'll do its job then be gone.

I use the one you have to shake to activate it. I think it's water soluble. I tend to put some on a cloth then wipe the area.

SDoc1000 is the best but it comes at a price.

thanks I like my bike so ill be buying the SDoc1000 stuff,it gets good reviews online

Brake cleaner is good as long as its not on paintwork.

This. Don't mess about with anything else, but use it in well ventilated areas, be careful as it also degreases your skin. It's great for tar spots, it cleans oily residue from windscreens etc, I've even used it as an "Easy Start" in the past. Good stuff.
