Post by jlawie »

Anyone able the help me with this?

Seem to remember it coming off an R6/R1? Brembo I believe.

Once the Tona's back from triumph, want to get a few other bits sorted!

I know the R1 has a Brembo M/C but can't comment if it will definitively fit but should do as pretty universal connections.

R1 was the best option.
Using one from a D675 takes a lot of rooting around to fit with the D6 clipons.
If u wanna splash out you can get real Brembo or Accosato to fit I think.

Hi all! Had to register myself again, guess I've been away for too long (sweat) (Like the new layout!)

I got myself an 06 R6 master cylinder for not too expensive, but just saw in the shed that the bolts where the cables connect isn't in exactly the same position as where the original one is. Is that gonna be difficult to fit when I take it apart tomorrow?
I know some people here did the upgrade so I'm hoping for some good advice!

I don't know the name but it's the bolt where the two brake lines attach to the master cylinder. The bolt with the hole in it for the fluid.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer, the brake lines won't be at the same angle. But anyway I'm going to try this morning so I hope you're right and it'll fit!

It is called a banjo bolt. Some are big enough for two brake likes and others for one brake line.

So I fitted it, I reused the original banjo bolt because the one that came with the brembo was for one brake line.

Like I said the banjo bolt is in another position as the original master cylinder but the brake lines don't seem to be stressed. Didn't have the change to test it yet because of the weather but I hope it'll make a nice difference!

Get someone to pull the handbars to full lock to both the left and the right turn while you look at the brake lines just to be 100% sure
