Re: A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports

I'm going to check my finances after the move. I'm half tempted to get one as a forever bike. The Versys owes me nothing and it seems a shame to get rid of it and use another bike for commuting when the Versys is spot on for it. Versys 650 ...

A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports

... the Kwak to make sure come spring it doesn't look like it's been pulled out of a World War 1 battle site. I have no idea how the ATAS would look after a British winter. Likewise as it's a £12k bike it's a bit of a expensive toy to leave in the garage for most of the year. The compromise could ...

Re: What do you want to vent about today?

... Now on the Versys forum I've mentioned I'm taking an Africa Twin out and I'm getting horror stories of them spilling oil and needing a new engine after being dropped, how owners don't keep them for long as they're crap, they're too heavy (this from Versys owners!), not enough power(again, Versys ...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

I've only ever had one bike dealer serviced and only for the first 20ish thousand miles, after the second valve clearance I did it myself. That was with Jack Lilley in Ashford and have to say they were very good. Not cheap though!

Re: What do you want to vent about today?

Only the Italians would send a reply to an email...1.5 years after sending it [emoji849] I asked to extend my warranty and the link didn't work but gave an email address to reply to. Which I thought was fine but it had no information of what they wanted ...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

After riding the Ninja 400 the other day part of me is saying I should get another sportsbike while I can still ride one. Re: Chinese Levers

... each to their own. I had chinese jobs on my R1 and never had issues and when down in town.. and also on the nurburgring.. and still worked fine after being smacked. Maybe i was just lucky. nevertheless they worked and cost a quarter price and looked the biz.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

... havnt ridden in about 3 weeks, for no reason really, just during the week is awkward as I always either drop Travis off before work or pick him up after some easier to just stay in the car sometimes, and weekends seem to just pass in a blur lately :( I am a bad biker.

Re: Chinese Levers

I'd never buy ASV. For the price I was annoyed after the black turned to dark purple. My bikes live outside But I may aswell have bought 10 pairs of Chinese levers and change them when they fade. I've had Chinese levers before and n3vwr had issue.

... down to see, I'd definitely screw it up, so just carried on! Somehow, I absolutely nailed the avoidance. I always had trouble stopping the bike afterwards in the blue cones. My instructor on Sunday said it didn't have to be stopped in the blue cones at the end, but my examiner this morning specifically ...

Africa Twin DCT

... you balances. How the hell can you do that on an automatic. Surely there would be a jolt or judder at some point to throw you a little... WELL.. After only 5 minutes I got used to not having a clutch. And could not stop grinning from ear to ear. The bike is Sooooooooooooo smooth. In standard ...

Re: Whoops!

Totally agree, the Enduro rider had a lucky break there 'cos the bike-cop was chasing him down for sure imho.

However, the car driver who took out the copper seemed to do so almost intentionally??

Good to see the poor bloke was able to stand, after his somersault.

Provisionally anyway (blush)

It’ll be reet, well, after the Flynn brothers sort the track surface out anyway, maybe they’ll go for those nice marble chippings in it this time round. ;)
