Re: Cross threaded engine bolt :(

Yup. I can't get the bolt out so it will need helicoiling at some point. Oil service is done, so it will only be a problem if I need to strip the bike to some point. I might take it down the lane and torch it if it needs that :D Air filter, new brake fluid and a thorough clean when I get time now.

I'm servicing Jane's 600rr (2005) at the moment. I've never done it before on her bike and as it doesn't do many miles (8000ish in 9 years :D ) I've not taken the fairing off for a long while. In all seriousness Duke has a point. Constant short runs on a bike in traffic will put it under a lot of stress. Both my Daytona and my Speed Triple failed and I used both of those for short commutes. Bratty, is it worth thinking about a cheap hack or a scooter? Cars are the same and always better ...
