... I missed out on the 636 I wanted by an hour (very cheap low mileage FFFA with akra etc) and every other bike just wasn't as nice as 'the one' after that. I just stuck all the bits back on the 675 after that so I could actually ride this year. Definitely going to look into a swap over winter ...

Re the 1000. I'd also say get rid. Even if you managed to turn it into a cheap track bike, I bet you'd have a hard time ever really trusting it again after a crash like that! You just don't need those nagging what if's in the back of your mind.
