Re: She's dead!

Aww crap Monty.. sorry to hear that mate, especially since a replacement isn't likely for a bit. Being without a bike suxs believe me. I know parting it out is a pain and your least fav option, but if you do, let me know what you've got to flog. Part of the deal with the missus with getting the ZX1...

Re: She's dead!

Just nipped down to the garage at lunch to have a look and the crank cases are junked. The sprocket bearing was fine but actually moving around in the case which was unsealing the oil seal. You can actually see marks on the outer of the bearing were it has been hammering into the case. Mechanic says...

Re: She's dead!

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! It can't be true. I nwws to hear that F1 style sounding exhaust shreaking around Derbyshire for ever. Is a secondhand gearbox or a rebuild not a possible option. Yes but the last few years I've spent more time fixing it than riding it. Nothing major until now, but if I fi...

Re: She's dead!

Well, it had one last good thrash across the peaks ands I'm glad I was there to trail in your oil slick. Have you thought about getting a re-con engine & gearbox? You've spent so much time (and I suspect money) getting it right. I've had a few minor parts for my Street Triple from these guys. S...

I'm thinking 636 but the bank manager has suggested a C90.

Either way it won't be this year!

She's dead!

Catastrophic gear box failure!

To be fair, she's had a hard life (in a 7 year abusive relationship) and owes me nothing.

It's a sad day though ;(

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Ooops. I don't think it's a big job to replace. It's an engine out and gear box split unfortunately. Going to be the thick end of 500 quid if it all goes right and theres no damage internally from the bits of bearing flying around in the gear box. On the plus side they can do the valve shims while ...

Re: Hmm. Not sure about this.

Have you got a bluetooth thing for your lid? I use my Garmin with one and then I don't look at it much at all. That's what I do with mine and leave my phone in my pocket. I find instructions like take the third exit at the roundabout much less distracting than looking at the screen. Doesn't work th...

Re: Thanks Teachers

It's unbelievable what that Ass is doing to schools and teachers through ofsted.
