I have no advice here. But personally I don't like them. I would feel very worried if I came off. As an image fair enough, stand by the bike etc but if the worst was too happen while riding then it offers nothing for the protection of the face which is silly in my opinion.

I think it's because we have a lot more drivers out on the road now and a fair few have their distractions eg mobile phones radios etc. Only yesterday I was driving and I saw a fella behind me on his mobile he overtook me while on his mobile....not calling (which is bad enough) but reading and texti...

For the track it sounds a great way of picking up a good bike for less. Even for the road it's a good idea. You just have to have all the documentsbof what went on and knowledge of how to repair it, or learn how to repair and work on it as a project.
