Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Which do you think will be quicker a road going rcv or a road going h2?
No brainer imo and not surprising as its like comparing apples with potatoes and the design briefs couldn't not be further apart either. Both projects have been very successful imo though.

And the H2 does not make or is even quoted as making anywhere near 250 bhp

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Isn't it 95%+ Marquez' championship winning bike? If money were no object that would be the bike I would buy. The HRC paint job really doesn't do it any favours but if I could afford that bike it'd be in repsol colours

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
People are quoting 159bhp because that's the figure Honda gave us. That's the road version. The point is simple - you can buy a £12k sportsbike that'll throw out 40bhp more.
The road going H2 is 250bhp.
The road going H2 is 250bhp.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
at least kawasaki stuck their balls on the line and made a fire breathing monster ,the honda falls way below expectations 159 bhp for that kind of money is a joke In fairness Honda are a very reserved and traditional Japanese conservative compnay who have motorcycles as there core business. Kawasak...

For the money they want it's a pisstake frankly, but I'm sure they will sell them all as most will never ride them and take them as an investment, like classic cars at the moment. Bonkers. Cookie I understand where your coming from and it was always going to be a collectors special but a fair view ...

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
I think the 159 figure is probably just sandbagging. With an ecu and a bit of ducting you can get 215 so that engine will be strong internally. Remember how Nissan claimed 480hp for the gtr but when it went on the dyno it mysteriously made 560?

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Why do people keep quoting 159 bhp what about the OVER 215 bhp with the optional kit ? The brief by Honda management was to give their young engineers a project equal to the original highly regarded engineering project in Honda circles which was the rc30. I would say they have succeeded in their aim...

Bit of a lazy morning and took the kids to soft play.
Met a few of the neighbours, the house next to us introduced themselves with a bottle of wine and home made shortbread biscuits. The guys over the road said hello with a load of bread fresh from the village bakery.
I'm going to like living here.

Why not make a proper NSR500 - if I had the money I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat, sadly though the emissions might be a sticking point, afaik they don't give marks for the lovely perfume of said emissions when determining the figures though.....

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
At least you won't be ordering one from the states! For the rest of the world you can have an optional 212bhp. "an optional “sports kit” that includes a new ECU, different front ram-air ducting, a different exhaust (dumping the catalytic converters and mufflers for full race baffles), quickshif...
