If they offer a 2yr warranty on the jacket, the zip should be capable of withstanding two years of reasonable use - commuting on a bike isn't unreasonable use, if it is they should state that at point of purchase surely?

It will be 2 years old this November.

I said the same to Sam about use, It must have done 20,000 miles by now. To be fair the jacket looks brand new, it's really worn well.

... but with my diving and actually working as a Safety Diver on HUET courses in the past it doesn't bother me in the least. We have to do it every 4 years to stay current.

Its a strange feeling that for 18 years we have always been there beside him or close by to help if required but now he has to fend for himself as much as possible.
