Anyone know of any jobs going?

Anyone know of any jobs that would be suitable for a former traffic cop and crash investigator?

Just been told that I am being made redundant as of Monday.

I will consider anything within reason bearing in mind my knackered ticker.

Re: Any Queen (the band) fans here?

The story does evolve around Freddie more than the band per se, and it probably does gloss over some elements of his life, but it does also show the darker element to his private life and portrays him and he comes across as being a rather sad lonely individual. The film starts and finishes with Live...

Re: Any Queen (the band) fans here?

If you go, be prepared for the earworm. Not giving anything away but the last track is "Don't stop me now"...... I have been humming it since we got home yesterday and this morning it is still in my head :D Daughter has "We will rock you" stuck in her head apparently. Wife has Bo...

Any Queen (the band) fans here?

Having been a fan of Queens music since the very start, I have just got back from the cinema having been to see Bohemian Rhapsody. If you enjoy their music and have not been to see it or you are not sure, you will love this. The casting is very clever, the music is brilliant and now I have Night at ...

I wonder what the reasons are

And we reckon the courts are too lenient here in the UK? :^ It will be interesting to hear why the Judge lowered the penalty when he gives his reasons in 90 days time regarding Nicky Hayden's crash https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/more-sports/driver-involved-in-nicky-haydens-fatal-crash-sentenced/ar-...

Ace Cafe birthday celebration

As many of you know, September saw the Ace Cafe celebrate its 80th birthday. It has been tremendous fun to play a small part in the Ace's celebration year, in particular at the start of September when we had Bike night, the 80th and reunion Saturday and then the lunch laid on for sponsors and such l...

Was given some good advice this morning

Many of you might already know this, so my apologies, but I was given some advice this morning by my nurse which I had never heard before. Today was INR blood test day which means trekking off down to the Doctors surgery (pre-arranged appointment) and having a needle stuck in my arm and precious red...

New blog

For anyone who is interested, my latest blog jas just been posted up on the website. It covers the touchy subject of contributory negligence, not particularly from a motorcyle perspective (although I do touch on it) but from other aspects. https://www.hudgellsolicitors.co.uk/news/road-traffic-accide...

The Ace Cafe is 80 this weekend

You may not be aware that the iconic Ace Cafe is 80 years old this weekend. Tomorrow (Friday) is the start of the celebrations, and I/we will be there for our final Hudgell Bike night of 2018. Our guest will be Helite (airbag jackets) and we will again be holding a free to enter prize draw with the ...

Re: If you get stopped in the Thames Valley, Hants or West M

I am the same, eye test every 2 years. I went from being long sighted and being able to see a boil on a gnats bum at 500 paces and only requiring glasses to read to needing glasses for both distance and close work all the time so now I wear varifocals. It caught up with me without realising and it w...

Re: If you get stopped in the Thames Valley, Hants or West M

I never ever knew where or what "Hants" was until just now. I did write Hampshire but there was insufficient room for the full word :D Good idea. But as we always say with all of these new schemes - there aren't enough police about. I get my eyes tested every 2 years. I agree, but this is...

Re: Diesel spill claim settlement

Can you say if that was on a full liability basis? It was indeed 100% in favour of the rider :) Defendant had little choice but to put their hands up in light of the overwhelming evidence and location where it happened. They could not pass the buck. But bear in mind, similar problems are often enco...

Diesel spill claim settlement

As a rider, I hate diesel and oil spillages which have become one of my pet hates, and so a big congratulations is owed to my colleague Kirsty Hodgson who has just won a significant claim for a rider who suffered because of diesel/oil spillage. Agreed the evidence was easier to gather as it was pret...

Re: Just say No

I only stopped drinking because of all the hours I spent in the mortuary over a 25 year period with the remains of victims who were dead becaue drink driving and it sort of put me off on top of which whenever I went out I was always the driver. The other side of the coin was in my youth, 10 quid dow...
