Re: New bike

I'll have to see if I'm brave enough to take the ATAS off road and join you one of the weekends. For sure.. although I haven't been off road for over a year but do miss it. A day out would be awesome. I don't know any up north / Midlands though. Only ever down south. A) gets expensive. I wouldn't g...

Re: New bike

You're more likely to go down a dirt track with Collins, I'll give you that. So what's the plan? Keep the current Tiger for commuting and use the new one for fun? Yes mate keeping the tiger to do the annual 20k miles a year commute. And keep the the XCA for pleasure .. ride outs and holidays.. Afte...

I keep telling my other mate that . But he insists on getting 1200.. albeit I did say he probably could do with the help of an extra bit of torque... [emoji1787]

Re: New bike

Congrats ! Looks a great bike and Triumph build quality is right up there these days. Here's to another 95k! Haha thanks mate.. yeah this one is a keeper not going to run into the ground this time.. hopefully. I've yet another 70k in the current bike hopefully . Never thought I'd be one of those ty...

New bike

Hi chaps.. And particularly Kwaky... I have finally bought a new machine. After owning the 2012 800XC and having 95k miles I though best get something ready. After hours of YouTube reviews on KTM, Yamaha, Triumph, BMW over course of maybe last two years. Decision made. First off.. I thought I wanted...

Re: Any idea

For what it's worth.. new sub harness for auxiliary lights.... £14... Yeah only £14. I had to ask three times. Not. The usual triumph dealer parts prices I was expecting

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

They're not the cheapest of bikes and my mate tells me that Triumph are less than keen for their dealers to discount. Yeah that's my gripe. Regardless of how dam good the bike is or what's on it . I find it almost impossible to justify £16-18 thousand quid for a two wheels. And can't bring myself t...

Haha I know.. I can recite the gizmos I've looked into them that much. Top bike with a top price to match

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

Tiger 1200, no chain to mess with and still pretty quick, electric adjustment for the screen too. They had a red Tiger 1200 XRt parked outside the dealers last night. I have to say it's a good looking bike for this bike type. They also had one of the new Scramblers. Rich wouldn't let me steal it be...

Re: New Bike Ponderings

Removable panniers with fitting built into the design..no horrible frames Isn't tall.. has high touring bars so more upright than a race bike Lowish seat... Looks the bees knees and has enough power to keep you "growing" with it for a few years Oh and relativy cheap for what you get [emoji...

Re: New Bike Ponderings

500 miles isn't really enough to familiarize yourself with a bike, let alone become tired of it. The more you get out riding on it, the better position you'll be in to know what your next bike should be. I dunno.. possibly if you didn't do a DAS on a 500!. Then go jump on a bike that had just over ...

Re: New Bike Ponderings

I'll be honest, reading your post says to me you just need to get out there and ride your current bike. 500 miles isn't enough to learn and make your hopefully minor mistakes. I'm not sure why you want more power when you have only passed your test recently . Sorry to be a bit negative, but doesn't...

Re: New Bike Ponderings

I would be looking at an MT07 if I was in your position. Lots of fun but not intimidating at all. I have never been keen on panniers. They make filtering very difficult. Have s look at the Kriega or Oxford roll bag tailpacks. Easier to use anytime. Nice bike.. but my mate who passed his test and ha...

Re: New Bike Ponderings

+1 on that it's not all about sportsbikes. Easy to say having done that for years though. Anyway I'm 5ft 6 with a 29 inseam and ride a tiger 800XC. I too am looking at a new bike soon. I have not decided yet as am torn between another Adventure bike or a sport tourer. I think Kwaky will agree a perf...

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

The workshop works in 30 minute slots, so maybe they're saying 90 minutes to be on the safe side? I really don't know what the process is. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me taking into account how long it usually takes when I get both tyres changed. Regardless, it's 90 minutes I get to spend takin...
