I didn't even bother up in Darwin last time on my way out. Had such a hectic Christmas break I just wanted to vege for the arvo.

... not equipped to deal with speeding offences. They can't make the call on what is dangerous driving or driving without due care. So that means their role should be very limited. I've no issue with them being used to report offences to the police, but the Police are the ones who should be policing ...

The police in the UK regularly say that their preference is to have boots on the ground - regular foot patrols using the same coppers so they can build up a relationship with the community. Visual policing is a known deterrent.
