Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

... Every ride out recently I have encountered at least a couple of the following: People doing a u-turn on the opposite side of a crest in the road so invisible to oncoming traffic, people on the wrong side of the road coming round a bend, people parked immediately round the corner of a b!ind ...

Re: ZX10R Review

That's the beauty of middle power mode Duke. I'm not sure what the parameters are for changing over the fuel map but it basically switches between low and full power modes depending on how your riding . very good system on the road.

Re: ZX10R Review

My honest opinion is that without power modes the latest bikes would be so difficult to ride in normal road conditions. It's nice to be able to have the full blown instant power sometimes but it's also good to be able to restrain it a bit in wet weather or heavy traffic.

Re: Quick intro

Hi Tony

I work in South Coventry (Binley) so if you seen a Green z1000sx or a black zx6r it could be me.

Track days are addictive. I was looking at that Mallory date myself if I get the 6r back on the road.

Re: 2014 Kawasaki Z1000SX ongoing review

When I used to ride off-road a lot back in NZ, it was quite common to pull the clutch basket and drill a series of 1/8 th holes in the sides. Used to help the cold clutch snatch and smooth out clutch use. This was on 2 strokers thou'. I would research well before doing on a big road bike.

Re: S1000RR test ride

The thing with lighter wheels is they have so many benefits. They improve handling, suspension action, braking and acceleration. Really are a good mod IMO. I was very cynical about what an average rider like me could feel in the road but for me anyway they were a fantastic upgrade.

Re: S1000RR test ride

... spec'd forged wheels for the Pikes Peak Multi. I guess a saving is a saving, though i'm not sure there would be any great benefit to the average road rider on the BMW when the standard wheels are pretty light anyway. I suspect if you were able to ride them side by side most riders would notice ...

Re: S1000RR test ride

That's just nuts as the mulit has a winning wsbk engine from only a few years ago and the s1000rr is a road legal bike restricted to 2/3 revs. Just shows how fast things have come in recent years.

Re: KTM to stop building road-going superbikes?

Kawasaki and triumph are the only people developing a 600 and ironically neither in road trim are an actual 600cc. Perhaps this gives us a clue to the future. More torquey middleweight sports bikes. I would love to see a supercharged 450/550 lightweight sports bikes with a gp inspired chassis.

At the aviation viewing park with the boys. Its pretty good tbh. Were about 300 metre from runway but taxi road goes right in front of our picnic table. They have a Concorde, dc10 and Nimrod we can have a look round too. Sun is shining and got a nice picnic so happy days.

Re: KTM to stop building road-going superbikes?

Supersport championship is to finish in 2016 so that may well be the end of 600cc sportsbikes being sold, not that anyone other than Kawasaki or Triumph have developed anything in that sector for some years. Sportsbike market is already the niche, high end product market i think. Are there plans to...

Re: KTM to stop building road-going superbikes?

With 1000cc sports bikes being so powerful I suspect people will still want something sporty but no so mental. There is always going to be a market for the middle weight supersports bike. Kawasaki and Yamaha have been developing their 600s. The 675, GSXR and CBR are all pretty old now, although Triu...
