My guess is she is just doing these in case she loses next weeks vote of confidence and election is forced on her.

Re: Joke of the day

What would have happened had he killed those in the other car? According to the radio earlier he pulled out of a side junction when the road was not clear.

Re: Brexit Round 2

How does May calling a GE solve anything for her? Surely it’s her own Party she needs to convince.

She also said just a few weeks ago that she would not be standing in the next GE.

She would need at least 100 new Tory MPs who would support her.

Re: Brexit Round 2

Had Corbyn played his cards right we could already be having an election. If Labour had abstained in the vote on Mays deal, it would have been passed. The DUP would then have withdrawn their support for the Govt and we would almost certainly be needing an election as Govt would no longer have any ma...

Re: Brexit Round 2

To be fair, Monty, with a few exceptions, most of them can FO.

I think we're there a GE both main parties would be surprised at how many votes they lose.

Re: Brexit Round 2

The general election will go ahead with the Brexit clock ticking. If May cancelled Brexit before a GE she would end the Tory party. The best you can hope for is an extension She is doing a damn good job of finishing the Tory party anyway :D how they ever expect to encourage young people to join the...

Re: Brexit Round 2

If she loses the next one next week, does that mean we have a GE? In which case I presume common sense would mean that Article 50 is revoked before an election?

Re: Brexit Round 2

Law can be changed. Its not speculation. There will be barriers between the UK and EU as each will be what is called a third country to each other. That will mean there must be border checks otherwise anything and everything can be imported and exported without any jurisdiction at all which is far w...

Re: Brexit Round 2

So do you think its acceptable that imports and exports to the EU will come to a standstill, Blade? If we are at a stalemate now, what will happen then?

At some point the UK and EU will have to agree some sort of deal so they may as well do it now before the shit hits the fan.

Interesting that both Rees-Mogg and Johnson are now saying we need some agreement.

I suspect they might be thinking that Brexit may never happen now.
