Wow I can't believe your lad is getting ready for Uni already. How quick time flies by. I can remember seeing him at bike racing as a young lad which only seems like yesterday.

Bloody hell blade, the most I've ever managed is two rears in one year. They where Dunlop qualifiers on the d6, and that was full ham fisted riding like I stole it miles.

Given the mileage I got from my front m7rr I reckon that alone would cover any savings you might make from keeping your current tyre.
I am getting 2 rears to every front tyre with these Metzlers. so another factor is whether you're going to be out of sync if you keep your current front tyre.

... I want to try another one out. But I also don't want to buy a pair when I know there's still life in one of the tyres! I'm a tight git and only getting tighter with old age but safety is paramount, so in 2 minds at the moment. Thanks for your thoughts

If you use your bike through the winter I can't recommend getting a tatty set of wheels and putting some touring tyres on them enough. Keep your good wheels for the summer with a set of snots on them.

... smoothly and very linear with no hiccups or surprises (y) Oh and even in standard guise boy is it loud (raaar) There is no way this baby is getting on a 102dba track day even in standard form (blush) Will post some pics up later just want to get some tea for now and then drool some more ;)
