Did a fast road/dirt MTB ride today.....except I'm not that fast anymore.
I'm wrecked, knackered, etc.
I need a new hobby....lik low-impact lepidoptery, philately, or something like that.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I took the sx out for a few hours and treated myself to full English breakfast, my first in a few weeks. Biking on our roads isn't as much fun as it should be. Regardless of the time of day, the roads are busy. The standard of driving is appalling. The roads are physically broken ...

... box from eBay containing a plug and play horn, the low tone horn from a BMW E46. Should give it a good honk instead of the "meep, meep" road runner horn. For £10 I will find out.

Moor Street will have thousands of vehicles go through it every day. It's incredibly busy around there.

Re: Road Tax Rip Off
Over what period??.... the reason I ask is in the Moor Street example, that would amount to over 175 fines per day if taken over a one year time-line, which seems a little extravagant, if not unlikely.

... bike to Sainsbury's for some Bread. Also had to change my PIN on a new bank card but the ATM outside was broke, so went to the nearest one up the road. From there I took the most direct route home but managed to end up in the middle of a bike run of about 20 bikes because some had to stop for ...

The biggest thing is how readily it turns, it is on the Michelin Anakee Adventure tyres, reading up on them they're almost a road 5 with a slightly off road capable tread pattern. It's a 250Kg bike and is somehow more nimble than the 900xr. Picking it up off the side stand ...

Re: The electric car revolution
Government should be investing in clean cheap public transport for urban areas, not building new roads.
Then you make motoring expensive in urban areas.
Also vehicles that pollute more should be taxed more both on new prices and annual road tax.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
No, I get it.
You think elderly pedestrians, likely to be slow and possibly with mobility issues, should be forced to cross the road, possibly in to the path of a delivery van or bin lorry, rather than possibly inconvenience the occasional vehicle.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
There's plenty of room on the road. Sorry, but I disagree. If I park on the road, even tight up against the kerb, the remaining highway is too narrow for a normal car to pass comfortably*. Delivery vans, or the council bin lorry not at ...

Re: The electric car revolution
In my opinion its a given that a some point we will all have a maximum carbon footprint to use which we can sell to others where we don't need it all.
